This sauce is super easy to make! I use it as a base for my spaghetti and a multitude of other dishes.

Step 1: Ingredients

4 15 oz. cans of tomato sauce if you don't have enough tomatoes to make your own. (like me:( )

1 large onion chopped

2 bunches of basil

a handful of garlic minced

salt to taste

olive oil

butter

Step 2: Saute

Pour the olive oil and the butter into your pan. Add the onion and garlic and saute till the onion looks a little translucent.

Step 3: Tomatoe Sauce


Add the cans of tomato sauce plus two cans of water.

Step 4: Basil

I love basil. I love the way it smells. Wash and julienne your basil. Add it to the sauce. Now use it with whatever your heart desires. In lasagna, spaghetti and it is also very good on homemade pizza:) Enjoy!
Have to run out to the garden for garlic..Tomatoes are not producing yet, but boy did I plant a lot! Sauce of any kind is heaven especially when you can make your own. I prefer freezing basic tomato juice in quarts and then cook it down when I am making sauce. Ahhh fresh basil..always the best!!
Good idea on the freezing. I am so very new to gardening, mine are not producing yet either but when they do....yum:)
