Have you gone this year ? I still need to get out there. Went two years ago, but didnt' go last year. Use to go every year back in the 80's. Have you tried a headlamp ? The coleman lanterns are hard to handle when you get a fish on.

I have not gone this year. Has the season opened? We did use our headlamps some. They were helpful.

It's open till weekend after this, but ice forming on the river now. I have one of the 200 permits so I am going to make use of it this weekend. I wish I had time to go earlier, I fear the run is over now. The season was from Sept. 23 to Oct. 23.
