These bars were a hit long before Special-K cereal began marketing its low calorie versions. Don't slouch on the ingredients as they are best savored in their full-fat, full-sugared state.

5 cups Special-K cereal
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips

I know this recipe as Scotcharoos, although those are made with Rice Krispies instead of Special K. They were one of my favorite recipes as a kid. I'm kind of curious now how it'd taste with other cereals as well.

These are amazing. I make them when the comfort food feeling is needed. They bring back fun memories of straigtening the line !

Absolutely not...use whatever peanut butter you prefer. :)
