Introduction: Spinach/Artichoke Dip

Picture of Spinach/Artichoke Dip

I do you not like spinach. I do not like artichokes. But I love this dip. The first time I made it I was a little skeptical on how it was going to taste but I have loved this recipe since the first bite. I have since made a few adjustments to it to make it better and easier to make. This is one of my favorite dishes to make. I eat this all the time as a snack throughout the day. I usually eat it with crackers but you can also eat it with chips. Like most of things I make I don't have exact measurements on everything. Over time I've learned to make this just by tossing in here or there.

Step 1: Getting Ingredients

Picture of Getting Ingredients

This recipe is very easy to make and doesn't require a lot of ingredients.
-Cream cheese regular
-whole leaf spinach
-artichoke hearts 12 ounces
-sour cream
-shredded Monterey cheese
-mayonnaise
-Italian seasoning, crushed red peppers, garlic powder,(pinch of salt. Optional.)
-chips

Step 2: Spinach

First thing you going to want to do is take out the spinach. Put the spinach into a pot of water. Start boiling the water...

Step 3: Artichoke

Take out the artichoke. Put the artichoke into a strainer and string out all the liquids then put inside blender.

Step 4: Cream Cheese

Next you're going to take out the cream cheese. Put cream cheese into a bowl and put in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Doing this allows the cream cheese to heat up a little bit making it is easier to blend. One seeded I'll put inside blender.

Step 5: Mayonnaise and Sour Cream.

After you put in the cream cheese next what you going to want to do is take some mayonnaise and squirted into the blender. If you need a measurement it's about a tablespoon but it doesn't matter as much as it would in other recipes. Yes you're going to put in about a cup of sour cream into the blender.

Step 6: Spinach Cont.

After the spinach is done boiling you going to want to strain out the water. Make sure to get as much liquid as you can out, you don't want your dip to be soggy tasting. Put the spinach into the blender.

Step 7: Spices

All your recipe should be inside the blender by now next thing you're going to do is put in your spices I don't have an exact amounts that you put in because it depends on how you trying to have a taste. If you wanted to just taste good and just regular just put in a lot of Italian seasoning a dash of crushed red pepper and garlic powder, preferred. If you wanted a little more spicy put in more crushed red pepper or if you like the taste of garlic put in a lot more garlic powder it's up to you.

Step 8: Blends and Cheese

Now is the last few steps. Turn your blender on until you blend all of your ingredients together it should come out of a greenish color because of the spinach. Once is completely blended, it should take about two minutes of blending, put inside a bowl that you're going to store it in. I use a zip lock plastic container. Once it's in the container the last step you going to put in the Monsarat a cheese. Like it most of the ingredients it really depends on you I like cheese so I put a lot of cheese and my dip. Mix the dip and the cheese together with a fork. After that is done he is ready to eat. You can keep it inside of her fridge raider when you're not eating it. I usually eat it was some crackers but you can eat it with chips as well. This is an amazing snack that you can eat anytime of day.

Have you tried substituting plain yoghurt for the cream cheese/sour cream or Parmesan cheese for the mozzarella?
