Step 3: Sticks and Straws.

Have your chosen sticks or straws ready. I cut mine in half so that they were size-appropriate.

I got my paper straws at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They are super cheap with a 20% off coupon!

Slowly press the straws or sticks into the bananas after you've cut them and stood them up. They will slide nicely into them. Just make sure to check your piercing direction because you don't want to go in at the wrong angle and bust out the side.

Once you're done, pop them into the freezer for a couple hours. :)
I recommend coconut oil instead of canola. It's the "magic" ingredient in those "shell" hardening chocolate syrups since it hardens at room temperature, it works wonders on frozen products.

Thank you for the tip! I wanted to make these for a backyard bridal shower but was unsure of how they would stand up to being out of the freezer for a little bit.

wow these look too cool!
These look really good! Just wondering how you could submit them to this current contest if you posted this so long ago - I remember seeing them back months ago because they looked so amazing...
NEVERMIND my question - just saw that they allowed submissions over the last year - good to know! Good luck with the contest!
