Introduction: Star Trek Red Shirt Kandi Cuff Bracelet
This is for all my fellow Trekkies out there. Enjoy this kandi cuff inspired by the red shirts on the Original Series Star Trek.
Step 1: What You Need
You will need:
215 red pony beads
20 yellow pony beads
5 black pony beads
Step 2: Start!
Cut a REALLY LONG piece of stretchy string. If it's too short, you can add more when you run out. Put on 30 beads: all red, except the 18th should be yellow.
Step 3: Second Row!
If you know how to make a kandi cuff, this is self explanatory. Just weave red beads all around. If you don't, here's how to do this second row:
Put a red bead onto the long end of your string. Thread the string through, not the bead directly next to the one where the string comes out, but the one next to that. Add on another red bead and continue weaving red beads through every other bead. It should look like the picture. Tie it off with a knot.
Step 4: Third Row!
This row should be easier, since all you have to do is fill in. Use red beads all around, weaving through the beads that are now raised up. When you get to the yellow bead, put another yellow one over it. Tie off with a knot.
Step 5: Rows 4, 5, and 6
Row 4: Red all around, except, one yellow bead to the right of your existing yellow beads, red to the right of that, but yellow to the right of that. Look out for where to put your yellows.
Row 5: Red all around, one yellow over your original yellows.
Row 6: Red all around, yellows over the ones you added in row 4. Tie off each row with a knot.
Step 6: Rows 7, 8, 9, and 10
Row 7: One yellow over your original yellows on the far left, two yellows to the right of that.
Row 8: Yellows over the yellow beads from row 6, one black bead in between those.
Row 9: Red all around except for two black beads over the yellows in the middle you added in row 7.
Row 10: Yellows over the beads from row 8, including a yellow over the black bead. Tie off each row with a knot.
Step 7: Rows 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16
Row 11: One black bead over the black bead from row 9 that was on the LEFT. One yellow bead over the black bead from row 9 that was on the RIGHT. Red otherwise.
Row 12: One black bead to the right of the black bead from row 11. Red otherwise.
Row 13: Yellows over the beads from row 11. Red otherwise.
Row 14: One yellow in between the beads from row 13. Red otherwise.
Row 15: Red all around.
Row 16: One yellow over the one from row 14. Red otherwise. Tie off each row. Use several knots on the last row and cut off the extra string.
Step 8: You're Done!
Admire your geeky kandi cuff!
