SteamPunk Video Game Monitor Wall Mount

Picture of SteamPunk Video Game Monitor Wall Mount
Due to my video game addiction I felt it necessary to build a mount for my 17 inch dell monitor screen to insure optimal gaming performance, and though it doesn't emulate a video game in appearance it was definitely inspired by them.

I'm also tall. That leads to horrible posture. So with this feeling it gave me motivation to be mechanically inclined so I deiced to build the monitor stand that I’ve always secretly fantasized about. It just so happened to be of the steam punk kind and I think it doesn’t look half bad. I’ll save you the hour of sitting on the hardware store floor trying to piece it all together and give you the list of parts that you will have to buy. Then I’ll give you an easy diagram to follow as well as the prices. My wall is at a 45% angle so it might not be the same as yours but it theory it should still work. The dimensions of the monitor are 17 3/4" by 10 1/2", and any other questions about the sizing I'll gladly answer.

Step 1: Shopping List

The file for the parts needed is attached as well as a simple diagram of how everything is attached. If there are any comments questions or concerns please let me know.

Step 2: Final Thoughts

This monitor stand though fairly easy to make is heavy so I would suggest that it everything is snug, though I have not had a problem with the stand or monitor coming loose and in fact have it positioned over my bed so I do trust in its safety. Though I would suggest adding superglue to all the threads to insure they do not become loose over time.

Hey, will this be able to hold a computer monitor? Dimensions: 15in by 12 3/4 in. ?

I don't see why it wouldn't be able to.

Very ingenious. I love how the monitor sort of "rests" in there, making it a more-or-less "universal" mount, able to accommodate a variety of brands and even sizes. Would also make a very cool TV bracket (bedroom, perhaps?) for an industrial or steampunk themed home.
hey this looks great ! i was wondering though can you upload some pics of the mount without the monitor on it ? also instead of super glue loctite would be a stronger option i swear by it for locking threaded objects together

Thanks, I'll upload the photos when I can, as well as pick up some loctite, though I haven't had any trouble with it coming loosened it wouldn't be a bad idea.
ok then cheers, and trust me you wont regret it :)
oh and you could use some sections of pipes as a secret stash

Thanks, It's a Turtle Beach - Ear Force X12 Gaming Headset for the Xbox 360, and it's highly suggested if you want to hear everything going on during game play. : )
