After finding an old file for 25 cents at a garage sale. I decided to make a stock removal knife.

STEP 1: Shaping the Blade

I used a right angle grinder with a grinding disk to shape the majority of the blade.

STEP 2: Attaching the Handle

After a minor set back trying to use my drill press to put pin holes in the tang of the knife. I decided to use a cut off wheel in my dremel to cut a slot in the tang. I then used a small piece of scrap metal and epoxy to attach the pallet wood scales.

STEP 3: Polishing and Sharpening the Blade

I decided to use a 120 grit flap wheel in my right angle grinder to polish out all the grinder marks from sharping the blade.

I then used my Lanky Sharpening Set to sharpen the blade.
