This is a great prank because its portable, simple, and pocket sized, and unlike taking a screen shot of your desktop or other computer related pranks, this you are not tied to a desktop to pull, it can be done on a plain, in a train, on a bus to cause a fuss "curiosity killed the cat" is what this entire project works off of. (notice how plain is spelled, not air plain-but plane as in " an area of land with relatively high relief"(-wikipedia), I doubt you can get this on a plane with todays security, and frankly, I wouldn't try either.

First, a few lines about my self

April 1st is my birthday, so I go all out every year, this is...what I'd say is my most successful prank, I have had better ones, but they were more complex and costly, I had cheaper ones, but they didn't do anything good, just a minor nucence like, painting the graphite tip of a pencil with black paint so it wont write.

This will show you how to modify an old film cameras flash system (!!disposable cameras work too!!) to flash from inside of a gift card box when someone opens it. Very simple project, building the trigger for the flash is a tad confusing, I have added several diagrams to try and limit confusion al much as I can,

Also, this is available as a video on my youtube here:

Step 1Gather your stuff

Gather your stuff
Ive already built this, I have roughly reassembled the camera, but I didnt go thru the effort to put EVERYTHING back.

You will need a gift card tin,
old film camera(!!disposable cameras work too!!)
possibly a switch(I take mine out for troubleshooting purposes)
2 AA batteries,
electrical tape
soldering iron if you have one, if not electrical tape works&.for a day or two(what I used)
