Introduction: Suede Leather Ipod Nano Case

A great ipod always needs a great case! Follow these step-by-step directions to learn how to make a SUEDE LEATHER ipod nano case. This is a very fun project and can be made from an old leather wallet. Many parts are also available online through different craft providers. Shiny metallic cases, nah, your ipod is too special to risk. Unlike other cases, this case will never wear out and is machine washable.

Step 1: Parts You Will Need

Some parts you will need are very cheap, others expensive but this case won't break the banks! If you are still looking for quality, then you need to improvise! Here are your "improvised" parts-

-A leather strap (part 1 of clip)

-An old wallet (case)

-Small peice of plastic (part 2 of clip)

-Small clear, bendable peice of plastic (window for ipod)

-Sewing needle and black thread (this will hold it all together)

Step 2: Part 1-Demolition

Cut that wallet up, soldier! First things first, you should really measure your ipod! I would make small pencil markings on where to cut, but if you want to risk your wallet, that is fine with me. Anyways, it will all come out in the wash. Your dimensions should be 3x2&1/2x3. This is a little oversized so you can actually sew it up. Cut two strips like this and then Cut the plastic for 1 strip. Don't use an exacto knife, just use a paper cutter if the leather is thin enough. You may cut padding if you want but it is just a huge pain.

Step 3: Sewing

Guess what? Now we have to sew. Follow these simple directions to get it right.

STEP 1-Sew together the thin plastic sheet and the first leather peice. Leave a hole for the ipod at the top or left side.

STEP 2-Sew together the peice with the button at the top or left side of the ipod holder.

STEP 3-(optional) Add another peice of leather on the left side of the case for headphones.

STEP 4-Check to see if it fits

STEP 5-Wash it out and DO NOT TUMBLE DRY. Hang it up on a clothesline.

Step 4: Finished

Use this case as a weekend thing or just something for home. Happy listening!
