Step 1: Preperations:
What you need:
An oven heated at 375 degrees.
-1 1/2 cup of Bisquick
-1/2 cup of Milk or Water.
-1/2 cup of sugar.
-2 tablespoons of Butter, Margin, or Shortening.
-1 teaspoon of Vanilla.
Brown Sugar Icing:
-2 tablespoons of Milk.
-1/2 cup of Brown Sugar.
-1 tablespoon of Butter.
*Note: There is Substitutes listed. Only use one of the listed ingredients.
Step 2: Baking the Sugar Bread:
Mix the 1 1/2 cup of Bisquick, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of Butter (Margin and Shortening for substitutes.), 1 teaspoon of Vanilla, 1 egg, and the 1/2 cup of Milk or Water.
Mix the recipe together and put in the oven for a half hour (30 minutes ), until it's a golden brown or thoroughly cooked. You can also bake it in a dough-making* pan for easier serving.
Tip: Milk makes it more moist in the end, and not so dry. It will still be as good if water is used.
*See the image above as an example.
Step 3: Making the Brown Sugar Icing:
Mix the 2 tablespoons of Milk (Use Milk. Not water!.), 1/2 cup of Brown Sugar, and 1 tablespoon of Butter (Substitutes work also.) together. Do not heat this. The butter chunk will slowly disappear because of the Brown Sugar texture. Mix until you can't see the butter.
Step 4: Applying the Icing to the Bread:
Once the bread is done, apply the Brown Sugar icing while the bread is still hot . Once it is applied, pop in the oven for about 5 minutes or until the surface begins to bubble . Best when served hot.
Serving varies by served slice sizes . ;)
