So around where I lived there was a place called "tying the knot pretzels". They sold pretzels of all kinds and they were DELICIOUS. But soon they closed and there were no more pretzels. Probably because of their high prices. But I wanted more pretzels and thought "hey, how hard could it be to make pretzels". So I tried to make their most famous pretzels the "sugar daddy" and it was easy and they turned out great. So I thought they would be perfect for the candy contest. They are relativly easy to make and taste great. Vote for me in the candy contest and enjoy :)

Step 1: Ingredients

There are alot more ingredients and steps than you would think to make pretzels but they are relatively easy and simple to follow.
- mixer with bread hook
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 cups flour and 1 1/4 cups flour, keep them seperate
- 1 cup 105*- 115* water
- 4 cups of water
- 5 teaspoons of baking soda
- non-aluminum pan
- 1/2 teaspoon of free flowing salt
- kosher salt if you want normal no sugar pretzels
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- mix of cinnamon and sugar to coat pretzels
*Licks lips* Im gonna have to convince my mom to let me make these...In a mall about 20 minutes they have a pretzel store and there cinnamon/sugar ones are my favorite, so I have to try this :) Yours look just like there's do! I was observing them making them once while my mom was in the store next to it getting cookies for my little brother and sister and its pretty much the same process.
Also, in step 3 picture 3, since there in a pan are they floating in the water, or touching the bottom? I can't really tell :P
No, they are floating. Make sure that when you do that step there is enough water that they are not touching or i believe they may burn or stick.
Hope you enjoy them:)
Those look so good! I love things coated in sugar!
yea who doesnt??? haha
i really like your pretzel recipe. i made a batch today, cinnamon and plain. i havent tried the cinnamon ones yet. i think i put to much cinnamon sugar on it, it got a bit burnt on top.
That's great I really hoped you enjoyed them, and its ok if they were a little burnt my first batch was too. The cinnamon ones are delicious and probably my favorite.

When you do make them it would be great if you posted a picture. Authors love when people post pictures of people making their stuff:)
How is this a candy?
well i think it could be a candy as they are coated in sugar and cinnamon but thats my opinion
But that's like saying you sprinkled sugar and cinnamon on a potato chip. It's still a pretzel, no matter what you put on it. That's just my opinion, but that being said the Sugar Daddy's still look really good.
Look so wonderful n yummy !!! Love ur recipe .
Dude these are amazing AND delicous!!!
Best ever!
thanks glad you liked them, vote for me in the candy contest
Yum, those look delicious!
btw thanks
oh yea they are, did you make them?
