Introduction: Summer Dress

This is a fun summer dress that is easy to make!!!

Step 1: What You'll Need.

Garden Party Summer Dress Collection Fabric
Basic Sewing Supplies
Sewing Machine
Serger (optional)

Step 2: Measure

Measure your bust on the fullest part all the way around. Be sure to go under your arms! Cut the fabric according to this measurement.

Step 3: Pinning

Fold the dress fabric so the ends meet. Pin the ends together.

Step 4: Basting

Take the pinned dress to your sewing machine and set it to the longest straight stitch possible. Stitch a straight seam along. Keep in mind this is only temporary so it doesn't need to be perfect.

Step 5: Try It On

This step is optional. I like to just to make sure the dress will fit. Be carful so you don't tear the basting.
Oh and before you do this make sure all the pins have been removed or ummm OUCH!

Step 6: Seam

This time sew the back seam for real. The basting stitches can be taken out once you sew this seam. Sew them with a desired stitch length. The smaller the more secure but the harder to take out if you mess up. I just happen to be using a serger for this step.

Step 7: Hem

The hem can be any desired hem. A good standard hem would just be to fold and press 3/4 of an inch and sew. Because this dress is for fun the hem can be as funky and crazy as you want!

Step 8: LOVE IT!!

Try the dress on for one last time just to be sure it fits right. Make any adjustments you need to make it just right for you. Now wear it and LOVE IT!!
