Introduction: Lemon Rice Prepartion
preparation of lemon rice:
Lemon rice is one of the popular dish in south india. This dish is very easy to prepare and requires only few ingredients. When u feel very hungry and want to prepare a dish which makes you full in very less time,u can opt for this dish.lemon rice can be made with freshly cooked rice or already prepared rice. lemon is a good body coolant and is so refreshing in summer. lemon removes toxins from our stomach and improves digestive system and strenghtens immunity.
Ingredients required for lemon rice:
Few tablespoons of any oil
1 tablespoon mustard seeds
1tablespoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon split black gram
1tbsp chana dhal
few curry leaves
2 green chillies
pinch of turmeric powder
pinch of asaefotida
salt as per taste
Step 1: Method of Preparation:
Take a vessel. Add few tablespoons of oil. keep on medium flame and when the oil is heated add mustard seeds.when mustard seeds crackle add cumin seeds.Then add split black gram and chana dal and fry on low flame for few seconds until they turn light brown.Now its time to add peanuts,curry leaves and green chillies. Add a pinch of turmeric powder and asaefotida.switch off the flame and add lemon juice .Lemon juice can be adjusted according to the sourness you like.Normally for 2 glasses of rice squeeze lemon juice from 2 lemons.
Method of preparing rice:
Take about 2 glasses of basmati rice. wash the rice under water.For 2 glasses of rice add little less than 3 glasses of water. cook for about 15 mins.cool the rice.
pour the above prepared mixture on top of rice. Add salt and mix properly so that all ingredients gets properly blended with rice. Adding turmeric gives nice color and aroma to rice.Finally garnish with grated carrot and cucumber slices.
