My mom's dog, Molly, loves treats. She isn't always the most obedient, but if it means getting a delicious homemade bone or a new toy, she's more than willing to sit or roll over.

This recipe makes 17 medium-sized bones - other shapes will make a few more or less.

You'll Need. . .
 • 1 cup whole wheat flour
 • 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
 • 6 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
 • 1 tablespoon honey
 • 1/2 cup milk
 • 1/4 cup oatmeal
 • Cookie sheet (lightly greased or with parchment or a silicone liner)
 • Mixing bowl
 • Mixer or mixing spoon
 • Rolling pin
 • Small cookie cutter (I like to use a bone-shaped cutter, but you could use whatever shape you'd like)

How To
 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
 2. Mix together the flour, oats, and baking powder
 3. Add peanut butter, milk, and honey and mix well
 4. Knead until the mixture forms an even dough
 5. Roll out to approximately 1/4 inch thickness
 6. Use your cookie cutter to cut out treats and place them on the cookie sheet
 7. Gather scraps, re-roll, and cut a few more
 8. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until they're golden brown
 9. Cool fully and store in an airtight container (you can keep them in the fridge or freezer if you'd like)
 10. Share them with your favorite super-talented pooch!

These are great! I made them in candy cane shapes for some extra festive holiday treats for our two boys. Baxter says, "Thanks for sharing"!

You had me at "easy" but then you added peanut butter and now Mr. Bo-Bo has to have them. I'll be making these soon!

i got an idea that i want to share under the non comerical creative commons lincense
since i like target pratice i can shoot dog treats with a lego gun at targets then after each shot i will let my dog get the treat then i will tell it to come and again and again since my dog gets bored but i am more than reasonable with my super lucky dog that's spoiled with blessings like seeing the naghbours dog whichmy dog loves and so does the nahgbours dog i will be sure to use a bigger caliber for safety reasons and to do it in a field since my countrys laws allow it, i also mean yes it's bored bbut i give it blessings and do not want it to be bored
This looks intresting. My grandma's dog Dakota has to take meds so I think this will definitely be something to try!

my dogs will do anything for peanut butter ! Their favorite treat is the "empty" peanutbutter jar (so I have to save them until I have 3) Have to give this one a try

Not going to lie, I gave them a taste (come on, I had to!). I didn't think they tasted great - she adores them though :)

Thanks so much for the comment!
