Love all the Mario Christmas themed things.
You really have some talented making skills there.
You should make a Yoshi like I did for a little girl.
It was made out of paper mashe, and the saddle would open up and in there you could store choco coins or what ever. Oh and there was the tongue. I made a jaw that could open and close on it and in it I fastened a red party favour and the part where you can blow in to was in one of the scales. Very cool. I have a pic on my web site. Not sure If I should make this in to a Instructable since its quite complicated and may not work for every one.
