This is a funky illusion to fool both children and adults. Simply drop your coins in the coin slot and watch them vanish. It is a modified version of the Toysmith illusion bank. But don't worry your money is still there!

Step 1: Supplies

For this Instructable you will need the following:

A Toysmith illusion bank (I got mine at a Michaels Arts and Crafts Store)
Scissors
A glue stick
A small philips-head screwdriver
Paper
A printer
A block of plastic wood (or regular wood) long enough to make a cube (at least 1.5in by 1.5in by 1.5in) out of the wood (or plastic wood).
A drill
A small drill bit
A pencil

Step 2: Preparing the Wood

To start, you will need half of a cube, so what you should is cut your wood into a cube and then cut the cube diagonally in to two triangular pieces. Be sure they are both equal in size. You only need one, so you keep the other as a back up until you finish.

I made mine using a different method. I cut the end of the wood at a 45 degree angle, then I cut a straight line taking the whole slant off and it left me with a triangular piece of wood.

Step 3: Disassembling the Box

Next, you will have to carefully disassemble the Toysmith illusion bank. Be sure not to damage any pieces. Once it is disassembled you should have 2 screws, a cardboard background, a mirror, the box, the lid, and half of whatever was in it (I had half of a smiley face). You won't need the cardboard background or half of whatever was inside (a smiley maybe), so you can throw those out if you would like.

Step 4: Preparing the Half-cube

You will need to drill two holes the size of the screw into your half cube. To be sure the holes were lined up properly, You should take the mirror and put it on the half cube and then use a pencil to draw a circle where the holes should be made. There are holes in the mirror, so when you put the mirror on the half-cube, you should stick the pencil in the holes in the mirror and make little circular marks.

Next you will print the PDF which can be found in this step. The sizing may be off, so you may need to print a few copies with the scale (the scale is a print setting) set to something different each time. Once the are printed you will need to cut them out. You won't really know if the sizing is off until you try using them.

Use your glue stick to glue either side opposite the surface with holes. Then take the question mark piece of paper you cut out, and stick it to the glued side of the half-cube.

Then, use the two yellow triangles you cut out and some glue to cover the 2 triangular surfaces of the half-cube.

Finally, glue the remaining square surface and stick a square piece of the yellow paper that you printed. You should have ever surface covered EXCEPT THE SURFACE WITH HOLES.

Step 5: Finishing

Now you will screw the half-cube to the mirror. Then you will use the striped pieces of paper and your glue stick to stick them to the inside of the box. Use the photo as a placement guide. Finally you will put the mirror back in the box and re-attach the lid to finish.
