Close it all up and test it out!
You will be amazed at the brightness of these LED's in perfectly dark environment. With the right low-lux camera you can see in complete darkness since the infrared LED's generate light at a frequency that the camera can see. And, you can record what you see by taking the video out to a camcorder! Stealth at it's finest!

well i completed mine but i cant see in the dark:'( i think either the leds arnt getting enough juice to power up all the way or the camera i got isnt the right one...

try wiring up the leds in paralel instead of series, that way they will all be the same brightness and if one blows then they wont all go out, it also makes them brighter then if they were in series

its one camera and you could use one screen by focusing both eyes on the same viewfinder

He's saying that you can still have depth perception with two cameras.
Your alternative doesn't.
Sep 23, 2010. 7:19 PMWesley666 says:
You've said this a million times. 2 cameras + 2 viewfinders DOES NOT = Depth Perception.
Feb 28, 2010. 10:06 AMkarate5662 says:
having 2 cameras and 2 viewfinders still wouldn't keep your depth perception. It wouldn't be able to focus the way your eyes would and would be disorienting. that's why military night vision goggles only have 1 camera.

I don't see why you're making it out to be a bad thing.
If I have information to share, aren't I obliiged to do so?
This site is all about showing people how to do things, and giving them useful information. If noone commented even though they had something to add, then we wouldn't have a lot of information on this site, would we?
Sep 23, 2010. 7:13 PMWesley666 says:
Yes, but its not a good idea is what he is saying. One camera shows your eyes one picture which doesn't give you really any depth perception. If you use two, it gives each eye a different picture, but cameras don't focus the same way as your eyes do, therefore, all you would get is a headache and walking into a wall after spinning in circles a few times. I built this and I tried 2 cameras and 2 viewfinders. Trust me, all you accomplish is a splitting headache machine. I found that 1 camera and 2 viewfinders was still not great but better then 2 cameras. What I found in the end was 1 viewfinder and 1 camera, that way you can use one eye to see where you are going, the other eye, although doesn't see very good because its dark, gives some depth perception and makes it usable. Also, since I put it in oxy-acetylene goggles, I kept one of the flip down shades so you can cover one eye and use just the viewfinder, which works as well.

Also, don't unload on ppl for giving YOU information. YOU can comment and GIVE info to the community, but ppl are aloud to give you info too. If you are wrong, ppl tell you so that you or someone else doesn't build something utterly useless. If he had said, "Oh, you stupid F!@#, your so stupid, the military does it this way for this reason. You should just go die!" Then yes, you would have the right to say what you did, however, he was explaining to you why it wasn't the absolute best idea, so don't rag on him.

No, I just don't check replies to my comments often, and no, it didn't take me thirteen days to come up with this, this is when I got around to it.
I don't see what your problem is, you're making a big deal out of nothing.

No, cause even after 13 days, you still hadn't come up with anything. PWN'd

Does any body have have a copy of Panasonic ag-456up viewfinder schematic diagram? I've extracted the viewfinder from the camcorder but can't figure the power, video, sound or ground on it. Can someone help please?
Sep 3, 2009. 4:37 PMapr1694 says:
viewfinders dont have sound, ground is usually green and the power can be black and red (but not all the time)
Sep 4, 2009. 11:59 AMtrodia75 says:
Thanks for responding. Unfortunately the wires going onto the Panasonic ag-456up viewfinder's board are 4 Grey and 1 brown which make it a challenge to figure what’s what. I don’t want to fire up each lead to find the power lead as this could bring more problems.

Ah i see but, sometimes on the board there is tiny writing like GND, 12v ,9v ,etc. Look where the wire contacts the board.
Sep 10, 2009. 8:11 AMtrodia75 says:
Thanks, i checked but it didnt have any markings on the board
Sep 12, 2009. 1:39 PMsushi crazed creature says:
If you remember how the wires were connected within the camera re connect them. Then when you turn the camera on take a voltage meter and measure the voltage on the connector and the other end of the wire. That should tell you the voltage. GND (ground) should not have any voltage. The data (I do not know if there is more than one) should pulse as the image goes through it.

Sorry if this does not help, is wrong, or does not work; I do not have a lot of experience here.

Thanks for the advice I tried it and it worked. I've now found the positive and negative leads and was able to power the tube with a 9v battery. Thank you
