Super Simple Survival Stove by WhiteTech
Intro Pic.JPG
I started this for the Stay Warm Weekly challenge,

This step by step guide will teach you how to make a stove/warming can, which in this case, is a big candle. It's very simple and burns for an easy 45 minutes and it's waterproof!

It's essentially a big candle!

how long does it last?

It really depends on everything. How much wax, what type, how big the sove is, how much air. But I did say in the Instrucable how long the big one lasted ;)

a much safer way to melt candle wax is to boil water, and have another metal container(tin can) with the wax in it. this way might be a little slower, however it is a lot safer because the wax wont get that hot, because it can boil over if it reaches a certain temperature.

I learned from my older sister who learned in the brownies about these. they made them just as you describe and then put a large juice can over them with holes to support a pan.

Heh, That's probably where my mom learned it, I went in scouts so we did things from scratch ;) She described it, and I went from there :l They do come in handy though!
