I started this for the Stay Warm Weekly challenge,

This step by step guide will teach you how to make a stove/warming can, which in this case, is a big candle. It's very simple and burns for an easy 45 minutes and it's waterproof!

It's essentially a big candle!

Step 1Materials and Tools

Materials and Tools
One of the great thing about this stove is the few materials it needs. 

Materials:

General:
A tin can: Doesn't really matter what size, how ever big you think it should be
Candle Wax: You can get this form old candles, or buy a pack of tea lights, or a big tub... tons of places
Cardboard

Small stove: nothing special 
Big Stove: toilet paper roll

Tools:

Box cutter
Pot 
Actual stove
Hammer 
Nail

a much safer way to melt candle wax is to boil water, and have another metal container(tin can) with the wax in it. this way might be a little slower, however it is a lot safer because the wax wont get that hot, because it can boil over if it reaches a certain temperature.

I learned from my older sister who learned in the brownies about these. they made them just as you describe and then put a large juice can over them with holes to support a pan.
