Introduction: Super Easy, Quick-made, Skirt

First of all, sorry for not having any better photos. Oh well!

This skirt is one of my favourites to make! It requires very little sewing skills, if you know the basic on how to handle a sewing machine you should be fine. It also goes really quick to make it (it takes me about an hour if the sewing machine is working with me, which it never does) and also, you can make it in so many different ways! i have two different ones showing here and the next pictures will be of the long zebra one, but they are both made in the same way.

Lets get started!

Step 1: Materials Time!

First thing you wanna do is gather up your material, the basics of what you'll need is:

Material:
- A piece of fabric that you like, length could be whatever you like but it should wrap about one and a half time around your waist
-A thicker piece of elastic band
-Thread

Tools:
-A sewing machine
-Pin needles
-Scissor

Alternative is something to decorate your skirt with. In the first picture I put on the lace at the bottom. I would also like to try to make one with buttons. Really whatever you feel like you want to have on it.

Step 2: Start Putting It Together

Part 1:
-Get that elastic band out. Now, measure it around your waist, you want it to fit snuggly (but still comfortable to wear).
-Sew it together with about a cm to spare. Fold the edges in and sew them on (as seen in picture)
-Ypu shpuld know have a round ring that fits snuggly around your waist

Part 2
-Get your fabric out
-Zigzag every edge! (this is so that it wont go up when you wash it)
-Now, fold your fabric inside out and fold it together once. Needle it together if nesseceray
-Sew the ends together
-You should now have a tube.

Step 3: Make a Skirt!

So, this is the step that is a bit difficult, just try to follow along and if you have any questions, please ask me!

Step 4:
-We are now ready to assemble the to pieces
-Keep your skirt inside out
-Take where you have sewn the elastic band together and needle it to where you have sewn the skirt together
-You will want to have the elastic band on the inside of the skirt and remember that it will fold upwards after you are done
-I usually have to try folding it up just to make sure that it will be on the right way, just try your way forward
-Now take te exact opposite of the elastic band (from where it is needled together) and needle it with the exact opposite o the skirt
-Now you have two needles in there
-Take the middle of one side of the elastic band and needle it together with the middle of the fabric on that side
-Keeping doing this all over until you have a lot of needles in there and the skirt has as many wrinkles as you would like it to have
-Once again, you could try folding it up just to make sure everything is needled on correctly

Step 5
-This is the easy step that loves to go wrong!
-We are now going to sew it all togheter
-The only thing you have to do is really to sew it on
-REMEMBER! You want to stretch the elastic band while sewing it on, otherwise you will not be able to stretch it to get it on you
-Make sure that all those little flaps that you have are all lined up the same way and that everything is getting sewed on
-You will want to sew this about a cm in from the top

Step 6
-Take all those needles out
-Turn it the right way around
-You should now have a skirt!

Step 4: Finishing Touch!

Just one last step!

Step 7
-This one is all about the lenght
-Put the skirt on you and figure out how long you want it.
-Now, if you have to cut it cause you want it a lot shorter, do that, otherwise you just fold it up a few cm and needle it on there (as shown)
-If you do cut, remember to zigzag again
-Now sew it on there, fairly close to the edge
-If you want some fancy stuff, add that on

Step 8
-Wear your skirt with pride!
