Super easy, three-ingredient cookies.

This instructable is to show you how to make some very delicious, and very easy cookies. The recipe is great for college students, because it only requires a few ingrediants.
How can you make cookies with only three ingredients, you ask? One of the ingredients is cake mix. It's also great, because you can easilly create a different flavour of cookie, by just using a different flavour of mix.

Step 1: Ingredients

Go to the store and buy:

1 Box of Cake Mix (I've had good results with the Betty Crocker Variety). You can get any flavour of normal cake mix, but I've found angelfood and Yellow cake to be particularilly delicious.
2 Eggs
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
(Optional) One jar of Nutella.

That is, if you don't already have them.
You will also need a mixer or a beater and a large bowl, and a cookie sheet.

If you want some peanut butter cookies on the fly (w/o cake mix) try just 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of sugar and 1 egg. mix together and bake at 350 about 8-10 minutes. let cool a little before removing from pan. yummmmy!

I've made peanut cookies with 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of flour. I wonder how different your idea might be. One way to test it.

Delicious, I just make them with a marble cake mix, so I have cookies with vanilla and chocolate flavor.Simply great recipe thanks!

The best cake cookies are devils food peanut butter
use same recipe but with devils food cake mix and 1/2 cup of peanut butter they are delicious and they never go hard

Made these today using Betty Crocker Dark Chocolate mix! The cookie dough was unbelievably soft; I don't think I've ever had cookie dough so smooth and consistent before! Plus, they taste AWESOME. Soft like cake on the inside, but with a little crunch on the outside! Thanks so much for the recipe (:

Soooooooo, Go to a store, Buy a box of cake mix / brownie mix / whatever mix, Read the instructions make a cake. What is the added value of this ?

Actually, if I remember correctly (don't have a mix in the house at the moment), the difference is in proportions. I like for a cake, you use three eggs and a bit more oil, which gives a runnier batter and the softer "cake" consistency. Fewer wet ingredients, and you have cookie dough.

Of course, as I said, this is off the top of my head. I'll have to force myself to go to the store and get a box to compare... =grin=

Actually, no, if you took the time to read what he wrote, you'll see he just uses cake mix instead of the usual dry ingredients and makes COOKIES. Not cake. Cookies. With cake mix. And eggs.

I just wanted to address what some of the commentors said, using a cake mix WOULD be much cheaper than buying a roll of cookies. Here in TN anyway, you can get a cake mix for a buck, buck and half. Pre-made cookies are usually over $3.00. And, like someone else noted, they have a tendency to turn hard as soon as they cool ( which I hate, also.) So a recipe that makes fresh baked cookies that is this easy, is fantastic in my book!

I just made the cookies with Duncan Hines Pineapple supreme mix. It made just a hair of 3 dozen cookies. The only thing I did differently was sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar on them. They were delicious!

I tried this with chocolate cake mix. They were tasty. Oddly, they tasted like brownies. Meaning I used cake mix to make cookies that tasted like brownies. I almost frosted them to complete the circle. I'll probably try again with a different mix. The angel food sounds really good. Thanks for the idea.

Cake mixes with little chunks of things in them, like "Cherry Chip" and "Funfetti" usually turn out pretty well, with this recipe. Also, Yellowcake is one of my favourites.

I just made these, and they look/taste delicious. They're perfect for me because I can't stand cookies that get hard and stiff at ALL which normally leads to me trying to eat them right out of the oven and then giving the 11 left over to my family. They love it, but me, notsomuch. Thank you so much for this!

Ok, I tried this recipe cooked in the microwave today, and I wasn't too pleased with the results. Maybe it's because I'm a noob to the whole microwave baking thing. First I tried putting several cookies on a plate, but they puff out so much in the microwave, that it became a huge conglamorate mess when they were done cooking. I ended up having to put each cookie on its own small plate and microwaving two at a time. Waiting for the cookies to cool, scraping them off the plate, and putting two new piles of dough on each cycle ended up being pretty time-consuming. I think it would have been easier to just bake them in the oven. The cookies came out pretty flat and thin this way, as well. Also, they cooked from the inside out, so they didn't get any browning on the outside. If anyone wants to try cooking these in the microwave, I found that it took 45-55 seconds on high to cook two cookies. Of course, check them with a toothpick to make sure they're done, as well. I'd still reccomend using a conventional oven, though, if you have that option.

Cake mix? How about just buying the whole thing as cookie dough or baked cookies from the store. The latter would be 1-ingredient cookie :)

Cake mix isn't really one ingredient. College kids always talk about cheap food, but usually it ends up being more about convenience, at their cost. If you really want cheap food, make it from scratch with flour, etc.

Nutella = one of the most dangerously awesome things ever.

Good on toast, bananas, peanut butter sandwiches, cookies, and eaten directly from your fingers.

Nutella! We Yanks aren't so familiar with it. I never tried it until I was in college and yes, dangerously awesome is right. Now I live in Eastern Europe, and we have this wonderful thing called Nucrema............ Though you can buy cookie dough at the market, it is much more impressive to the opposite sex if you made the cookies yourself; the fact that you actually baked something in a Ramen and Lucky Charms environment that is college goes a long way.
