Super thermite / thermate TH3

Super thermite / thermate TH3
Thermite is good, hot and fun but thermate TH3 is better, hotter and alot more fun..
to make 300g we need........ (use scales that have the decimal for more accurate measurements, but its not that important)

206.1g of thermite
87g of barium nitrate
6g of sulfur
0.9g of dextrin

get the ingredients off ebay, they might not be listed but email a seller that has iron oxide powder or aluminum powder, the chances are they sell what you need.

Very cool, i was thinking what if you put a charge of some sort (like some m-80s, or other explosive), buried them under the surface. So that once it got going it would be a thermate grenade. Do you think this is possible?

Cool job, though have a little check of your spelling and the bit kiteman added in the comments about barium nitrate being toxic is pretty important...

Great, but I've been looking all over for a "red ball" can and can't seem to find one. Any ideas where I can get one?

Looks very cool, but...

Like all soluble barium compounds, barium nitrate is toxic by ingestion or inhalation. Symptoms of poisoning include tightness of muscles (especially in the face and neck), vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, muscular tremors, anxiety, weakness, labored breathing, cardiac irregularity, and convulsions. Death may result from cardiac or respiratory failure, and usually occurs a few hours to a few days following exposure to the compound. Barium nitrate may also cause kidney damage. Wikipedia.

So, if anybody breaths in the smoke, or handles the barium nitrate, ot the thermate, with bare hands, keep an eye on them for the next week or so. If symptoms occur:

Solutions of sulfate salts such as Epsom salts or sodium sulfate may be given as first aid for barium poisoning, as they precipitate the barium as the insoluble (and non-toxic) barium sulfate.

And, of course, seek medical care.
