Introduction: Superhero Logo Painted Pots

About: Doesn't matter If it's a recipe, a craft, or a project, I love everything that's simple and quick.

When I decided to buy the adorable little cacti and pots to plant them in at my neighborhood OSH, I though to myself: why not paint them with superman and batman logos?!

For a little background info, I have a huge obsession with marvel and their superheroes. If I could, everything I make would include some superhero or other.

Anyways, here's a little tutorial on how to paint your pots and then plant them in their respective pots.

On a side note, if you have some other favorite superhero, the only difference is that you'll need to find their symbol by some simple research.

Step 1: Materials

Here's what you will need:

* Since I used both Batman and Superman, everything is doubled *

- 2 mini-cacti or a small flower of your choice
- Two 4" clay pots
- Two 4 " clay pot bottoms (to catch the water)
- Various paint brush sizes
- Colors of acrylic paint used in the symbol you choose (I used black, yellow, red, and blue)
- A pen or pencil
- Potting soil
- Image of superhero logo and costume for guide

Step 2: Drawing Your Logo and Painting Your Pot

The first step will be to draw the symbol using your pen or pencil using an image of the symbol you found on the internet as a guide. Don't worry so much about making a mistake or making it perfect, because the paint will cover all of your mess-ups.

Once you've sketched the symbol, start to fill it in with it's respective colors. I found it best to start with the lighter color, in my case the yellow. Painting with the darker color gave me a chance to fix up the symbol to make it more even and thicker in some places.

After you've painted the symbol, continue to paint the rims of both the pots and their bottoms. To choose the right color, I researched the superhero and batman costumes. I decided to go with blue for superman and black for batman. This part is completely up to you.

Give it some time to dry then come back to pot your plant!

Step 3: Potting Your Plant

Now that everything is nice and dry, it's time to pot your plant.

I filled the pot halfway with potting soil. I then took the plant, which I had taken out of it's container, and centered it in the pot. A good trick to remove the plant from it's container is to roll is sideways along a straight surface. I then filled the remainder of the pot with soil until about 1/2 an inch to the top.

Step 4: Final Product

There you have it! You now have your very own superhero pot!

Care instructions will be different for every plant, but in general it's best to water it whenever the soil is dry to the touch and to give it as much sun as possible.

Good luck caring for your plant!
