After finishing with the rough sanding I polish the blade to 220gt. always making sure the
sanding lines run along the edge to avoid stress risers during the heat treatment. At this
point I make sure the dimensions of the tang are the way I want them, and adjust if need be.

I love your instructable...but...your pics are too dark and you lack detail in the the instructions (like how you forged the straight point and the tang).....Though, I liked your technique for finding high and low spots....

   Dude, try turning up the brightness / contrast on your monitor  some, crank the gamma up, something... 'cause they look fine on my screen except for maybe TWO... and even those aren't that dim.

   And Ben, I'm with Voltagedude, how much would it cost to have one of these made? I can't hope to make one myself... just PM me with the details please.
