I am looking for something to use when coyotes come too close to me while dog walking. How far does this thing shoot?

No, I am not getting a bb gun. Any ideas? We are in a huge suburban area and most stuff is illegal. I don't want to hurt the wild critters, but they need to stop following me and the little pooch.

i don't think the model of sling shot matters too much but one with a wide fork is best.

if you don't want to hurt them i have 2 types of ammo to suggest: paint balls, in australia you can buy these at Big W and are called "splat balls" you can get a jar of 250 for around $10 AU these are round and fly straight me and my mates shoot each other with these and don't get hurt bad the second type is rolled up duct tape balls these are really only good for close range (around 10 metres) cos they don't fly straight but are really cheap at under 1c AU each.

paint balls work great if you just want to scare them off. works great of feral dogs here in Mexico

get a black widow or a similar model. I got a petron folding slingshot for €8 in a Gunsport store. You can get stronger bands on it if it's too weak for your needs

We have no gun stores in this county. However there is ebay. I will check it out. I saw a lot on there the other day...but the names you mention don't sound familiar.

could someone tell me what can i use as practice ammo  im getting my slingshot tomorrow is a barnett diablo 2 with stabilicers

A bag of glass marbles, 10 mm or larger, is inexpensive ammo. For a target/catcher a large cardboard box with a few towels hung from thin rope will catch them and they can be re used.
For a target, an old sock works. Set up the whole thing about 30 feet away.

way too large but if you have a large slingshot(cobra type) anything up to 10mm to 15mm is ok,you could try just or a laugh search bonecrusher ammo on youtube and have a look at that

you can use anything from 7mm to 25mm. ive used a 30mm once. it doesnt matter what you use.
ive used rocks on ballistic gelatin, they go through.
mables do not shatter, either so they are rather cool.

yeah the reason why i am allowed to have slingshots acroding to the law of my area which is a area that i am not willing to say without authorization by me and for safety reasons second of all as of what area do you claim the about thous slingshots

 what ammo can you use if you do not want to use metal bearings?

stones or airsoft pellets theres also marbles but they could shatter
and for a eco friendly subsittute you could use popcorn kernels with my shotgun shells for slingshots
