07/20/2013 DISCLAIMER! DO NOT AIM OR SHOOT THIS K'NEX GUN AT PEOPLE, ANIMALS, OR ANYTHING YOU DO NOT INTEND TO HIT. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. This is my tested and K'nex WAR proven TR8-2013. If this gun which is built entirely out of K'nex is not built exactly as I have pictured IT WILL NOT PERFORM AS I CLAIM IT WILL. This gun was designed and built to shoot fin ammo. I will be showing both how to build the TR8-2013 and fin ammo. With both the gun and the ammo built exactly as pictured only then can I promise you similar results as I have obtained with this gun. As far as modding do as you wish but know that if your gun does not perform as good as I said it could consider that it is your mods that have tampered with the final results. I recommend that if you do attempt to build this gun you place each and every piece in place exactly as I have done so or please do not expect similar results. With all that political mumbo jumbo out of the way lets get to building!

this gun rocks it is one of the best knex gun I have seen

thank you very much did you get a chance to build it just curious? Also I have a few more mods coming that I have to put up and take pictures of or make a video
Yes I made it but it hurt my fingers to make it but I Guess that's what you have do to make a good gun

I have to admit, you really are a genious when it comes to knex building. Drum mags and shoots 300ft? If you mod this, this literally becomes a semi-auto revolver sniper rifle! 5*

thanks for the compliment really appreciate it um you get a chance definitely recommend you build again its a lot of fun the shoot and a great build

do you need the gold knex piece for it to work

Which gold piece? They are useful probably replaceable tho they have a purpose
Thanks for the info

no problem man um just so you know that parts list is not up to date with the newest pictures I'm hoping to sooner than later post up more recent pictures there's some modifications to the trigger that made everything like that so the very least I plan on making a video and I'll try to get that to you as soon as possible

It says in the part list 1 standered gold piece
Wow... Thanks, I'm going to build the gun but one more question, how long will it take? I'm not very experienced with building knex guns
Not to be that guy... But how powerful is the gun? I'm thinking on building it but I don't want a cool but weak gun.

Well with 5 size #64 Rubberbands and my fin ammo it will shoot at least 250ft up to 300ft with a max of 7 bands. The gun will shoot threw drywall as well with 5 bands. So I'd say it's the most powerful K'nex gun that has such a quick ROF

to be honest I thought this gun was going to suck but it's actually really good

Thank you I'm happy you like it! Just curious why initially you thought it would be a crappy gun? Lol

If I were to replace the TR8 turret with a TR-18 turret, do you think it would still function to a similar standard as you intended it to?

with some mods maybe not saying it couldn't be done but the 8 is a great all around balance

Dat Slide...
It's actually amazing.
So good!
The slide is extremely awesome! I don't use the gun without one now! It makes charging the gun so so much better
Did anyone take a video of the 2013 K'nex War?
got some up on my 2013 war forum
I don't see it, under forum topics?
yes

The new trigger fixed it thank you so much!
happy to hear it! Try out the new turret too!
The tr8 fire pin keeps getting stuck on the first yellow connector after the trigger here is a picture
try a few of the new mods on step 7! They are inspired from the K'nex War 2013!!! I believe the new trigger will help you out on this one!
take a few more pictures of your gun and I will do my best to help you out. You may need a new black rod for a firing pin or it could have something to due with your trigger either way I would need to see a few more pics of the gun from a bunch of angles.
Congratulations for being selected as a finalist in the Toy Rods and Connectors Contest!
thank you very much! Thank you for your support :)
No problem ;D
Lol, I'm thinking about building this and the Swagboss again. Thanks for posting this man. Love all your work. Oh and sorry for the late comment, I just didn't have an idea of what I should say at first. : P
Kinda late reply, but the Swagboss isn't that great. Uses tons of pieces for not that much power and mostly just a novelty trigger.
I actually happened to like the swagboss when I built it. Sorry to hear you had problems with it. At this point now, I'm just to lazy to build it again.
I didn't have problems. It worked just like it should. But overall it wasn't that impressive, just build a normal TR18.

Also I see my comments are showing up again.
Sounds great take some pics! Thanks for the comment!
Have you ever tried replaced the dark gray connector on the firing pin and guide with a black hinge piece? You can kind of see what I'm talking about in the picture hopefully. It reduces a lot of friction, making the pin a lot easier to pull back. If facing the right way, it adds to the distance the pin can be pulled back, giving the trigger more room to lock in. It hasn't seemed to decrease performance any, in fact it may even improve ranges by a few feet. I'm not completely sure how reliable it is yet though, so it might not hold up over time.
I do believe I remember trying this before however it was not as reliable and did not hold up as well under the pressure I usually put my gun under. With fewer bands it may preform decent but overall I would not recommend it. Do you have a picture of the entire gun? Oh by the way thank you for the suggestion I always appreciate ideas even if I've attempted them before or not. You never know till you try
Yeah after 80 times shooting it broke. It worked well for a while though. I do not have any more pictures at the moment but I did add the slide from the TR-18 to it.
Good fun.
Hit send for no resone
Sorry I acsadentaly
I've updated my trifle. :P It now has this barrel; it now works a bit better. Thanks!
very cool gun take a few more pictures I may oneday expand upon the idea. I have a youtube video up of a sear trigger and now that youve build a very nice one yourself I may have to give it another go one of these days! Take more pics in dont use any unusual photoshop stuff
Will do. :P It might be a while, though, as I'm in band camp for 10 hours a day, but I'll get them to you eventually.

(Don't worry, I won't photoshop them; I only due that when I'm 'showing off' my guns. :3)
