Introduction: TV REMOTE CONTROLLED APPLIANCES

THIS INTRUCTABLE IS ABOUT A INFRARED CONTROLLED HOME APPLIANCES USNG 4017 IC. THIS INSTRUCTABLES CAN BE EASILY MADE WITH BELOW GIVEN DECRIPTIONS. SO LET'S GET STARTED.....

Step 1: THING NEEDED

FOR MAKING THIS PROJECT YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING PARTS-

-CD 4017 IC -1 NOS

- PCB - 1 NOS.

- BC557 - 1 NOS.

- BC547 - 1NOS

-100K RESISTOR - 1NOS

- 100 OHM RESISTOR - 1 NOS.

- RED AND GREEN LED - 1NOS.

- 5V RELAY - 1NOS.

-10UF/25V ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR - 3NOS.

-7805 - 1NOS.

-IR REMOTE.

- PENCIL CELL - 2 NOS. FOR REMOTE.

YOU CAN GET THESE ITEMS EASILY AT YOUR LOCAL ELECTRONIC STORE.

Step 2: THE MAIN CIRCUIT

FOLLOW THE ABOVE CIRCUIT DIAGRAM TO MAKE THIS PROJECT. AFTER MAKING THE CIRCUIT AS PER ABOVE DIAGRAM. ITS TIME TO TEST IT.

Step 3: Making 5v Power Supply

ABOVE IS THE CIRCUIT FOR MAKING POWER SUPPLY FOR POWERING THE CIRCUIT.FOLLOW THE CIRCUIT DIAGRAM AND MAKE IT.AFTER MAKING THE POWER SUPPLY CONNECT IT TO THE CIRCUIT AND TEST IT.

Step 4: Testing Time

NOW TIME TO TEST IT. it works..............THANKS.

If you inturrupt power to the control module, when power is restored does the relay remain in the "off" mode or will it latch in the "on" mode.

Thank you.

As is, Chaos will decide!

With a proper Power-On-Reset (POR) circuit (just a fancy name for adding a resistor and a capacitor to hold the 4017 in reset until stable) it will power up with the relay off - and if you need it to power up with the relay on, another RC circuit could be tailored to clock it a wee bit after the POR.

The POR should be long enough to allow the 5V supply to stabilize (I'd give it a couple of ms or more, depending on the supply), but a clock need less than 500ns after that (although with an RC circuit, I'd measure the actual time and then double it to allow for changes in temperature and relative humidity).

Let me know if I can be of any help in implementing such circuitry :)
