I was looking for a strong and large shoe-horn for my boots.

As most are made on plastic or brass, I decided make my own on steel.

As an example, my old nickel-brass shoe-horn bent in the middle.

Materials:
A stainless steel tablespoon (1 $ store)

Tools:

HAND HELD GRINDER

Step 1: Mark Shoehorn Drawing on the Spoon

Step 2: Cut With Grinder

Step 3: File the Edges

And enjoy it!

Step 4: Flatten With a Hammer to the Desired Curvature

And enjoy it!

Regards, Jose.

P.S.- Excuse my english (I'm spanish from Madrid - Spain)

Converting a giant spoon into a giant steel shoehorn is the universal language, and your pictures tell the whole story.

You must have some big boots to require such a sturdy shoehorn.

My problem appears when passing over instep and heel - very narrow boots, or my feet are poorly factory made : )
