Hiking How-To: What I bring along with me.
Alright all you flower children/outdoorsy people, This here instructable is just a quick little video/photo's about what I personally like to take along when going on a hike or going camping, Your bag may differ, but this is mine, and I thought I would share, who knows, you may find some cool things in there you never would've thought to bring along!
Also, I do apologize for the less than phenomenal video quality. Youtube does not like me and my Good quality video files today.

Well I hope you get a fixed blade knife for your longer hikes. If you haven't gotten one already. Good going. It's always nice to see more and more people getting out to do outdoor activities. It is rare to see as many younger children out doing these things because of the way video games are these days. Well I hope you enjoy your summer.

No map and compass ??? (There should be a compass on your person, besides any that might be packed away anywhere (that's a backup..)).

And your little ol' water bottle there would only be good for a couple of hours down here in Oz; (personally, I made the mistake of carrying too small a water-bottle when I was a teenager starting out..).

While I trust you also have a hat and sunnies with you, I would have also included them on the list..

(And: sunscreen and insect repellant should be essentials, especially in summer..).

The bag you are using might be good in short distance hiking but for long distance, you need more than just a bag like that .It should be comfortable to carry and easy to take some stuff out the bag easy just in case emergency.
