Tasty Chocolate Roll

Tasty Chocolate Roll
This is a light dessert that might not be terribly pretty (especially the first time making it) but it tastes AMAZING!

I'm going to break it down into a lot of small steps so that even a beginning baker can follow along.

I also want to note that the color may look a little strange in my photos.

It looks lovely! I wonder if you could use ice cream as the filling?

Really good ganache, er, chocolate coating is equal parts chocolate and cream. Heat on low to med/ low heat, stirring constantly until chocolate melts. I would pour the coating over the finished cake roll after it has cooled slightly, then chill until the coating hardens. Super yummy!

It makes me think of the Pumpkin roll cake. Once you take the cake out roll it up and  let it cool for around 15 to 20 minutes. Carefully unroll then add the filling, roll up again and chill completely. Allowing it to cool help it keep a more rounded shape. I am so going to make this for our family movie night!

looks awesome! I'll have to give it a try over the summer as part of my "learn to cook" experiment. :)

One reccomendation though. Something about this just screams at me "CHOCHOLATE COATING!"

IE a 'swiss roll'
