My first tatted mask pattern. The mask won a third place in the DIY Halloween contest from my flickr photo and I was requested by Instructables to post a slideshow here!

The full instructable is up NOW!!! http://www.instructables.com/id/Tatted_Mask_1/

This mask as well as many other tatted pieces are available in my etsy store here: Totusmel.etsy.com
Wow, Amazing job on this mask, very well done and it looks like it was equally time consuming as well... Thanks for sharing....
trying to figure out how to make a mash for some one that wears glasses....
You go kid, You go.
3rd place? it should have won 1st
so gorgeous!
i love to make one pattern please :)
wow! that is absolutely stunning!
Very Nice, I have been admiring your work for some time now.
Beautiful, yes. Not an instructable, yes. I generally would say an instructable should enable an unskilled but careful person to replicate your results. If you don't want to go to all the work to connect the dots, link out to other helpful sites. One other thought: this would be even more cool with LEDs. Add some animated patterns, and I'd almost have to make one for myself.
Linking to this tatted necklace (instructive) instructables slideshow might be a good explanation for tatting:<br/><br/><a href="http://www.instructables.com/id/Tatted-Necklace/">http://www.instructables.com/id/Tatted-Necklace/</a><br/>
True, that is helpful, though I'd say that ible needs work too. And this project uses wires to create a 3D shape, which is particularly cool, and not documented in that other ible. I'd really hate to see the content of Instructables slide this way... I recommend some editorial intervention.
The slideshow feature is intended to provide a space for people to show off things that they have made. As such, this fits in just fine. If it's cool, then encourage the maker to post instructions if she or he makes it again.
Appears that I'm not alone in the opinion, a slide show doesn't an instructable make. Slide shows and video are fine as value added content to an instructable. IMO an instructable shouldn't make one to hunt around for instructions or wait, until the creator of a slide show gets around to making another project. Anyway the finished project in the slide show looks great. Much sexier that heavy make up and, flashy jewelry. I'm guessing there are many mother and, grandmother out there wishing they where still young enough to pull off wearing these. Perhaps there are some who can, but do they have the guts to do it?
Wow, thanks everyone! I posted the slideshow after I won a 3rd place in the Halloween contest I heard about on etsy. I never imagined I'd get so much attention. I shall be back with more! Yes, both pieces are tatted w/size 10 thread, the mask take a couple of days to complete.
I'm a tatter and would love to be able to get a pattern for this piece, this would be perfect for Hallowe'en next year. Are you willing to share? :)
I'm going to 'try' to work up an instructable for the mask in the near future, might be after the holidays though.
Absolutely, marvelously stunning!!!!!!!!! I want, I want, I want, I want, I want!!!!! Waaaaaaaaaaaah! Please let me know when the pattern is available. It's way sexy! :P
TEASE! I was so psyched to make this over winter break-- to my despair, 'twas only tempting pictures. You have left me quite unfulfilled. Still, nicely done.
Instructable = INSTRUCtions to make us ABLE to do the project.

Did I miss them? I see the project... which looks lovely... but I don't see the steps to make it. Was there a link I missed or another page?

Jerry
Wow, that's gorgeous! Add my vote to the "please post full instructions" crowd. Do you have an Etsy store? I'd love to get a link to your other projects for sale there, too. (And yes, posting links to your Etsy store is both allowed and encouraged!)
I do, that's how I found out about the Halloween contest. Here I am
TotusMel.etsy.comTotusMel.etsy.com
beautiful! looks like Björk's Vespertine
Gorgeous !!!! If it was made of hair it would be so Bjork Medulla!
thank you for the beautiful slide show -- the black tatted (that word's new to me) things are cool, and the model's extra cute too
Gorgeous! I love it! I have been wanting to learn to tat. If you write up a pattern, I will definitely have to learn tatting. Have a great day!
The mask and choker are the most beautiful tatted items I have ever seen. I tat using a needle - I imagine you use a shuttle? I look forward to seeing your Instructable and trying my hand at making it/them.
Thanks for all the comments! I will work on a new mask in the near future so I can can get photos of the process for an actual instructable...this is my first experience here so please be patient with me!
I like it !
Ok, now just how did this get featured....ahhhh, duh no instuctions - why put an item up with NO INSTRUCTIONS...
can we get the pattern???? please.
How the heck did this get featured when there are no instructions?
Try looking at it - that is a high-quality piece of work.
I agree with you kiteman slideshows have been featured in the past and this one definetly deserves it.
love to see at the very least a general ible on how to do this i have a few friends who would love it
WOW! Gorgeous mask. Please follow-up with an instructable on how to make this kind of mask.
Very cool, I would love to try and make something like that!
Lovely; but this is not an instructable......
nope, it's a slideshow
Very masterful. It's beautiful, so are you.
Amazing and beautiful. Like a fractal. The mask even contours the nose. I have never seen anything like that before.
That's really cool!
oooohhhh... Very nice. (The necklace too. Also tatted?) And it looks perhaps like something a good size for tatting, which is frequently a problem... About how long did it take you to make ?)
