Step 3Modifying the circuitry

Modifying the circuitry

There are a few things on the circuitry that you need to identify before you do this step. The first is the capacitor which is the cylindrical thing, you should have discharged in the previous step. Other points of interest are the indicator LED light and the switch that is used to charge the capacitor.

Steps:

1. Unsolder the indicator LED, solder 2-3 inch wires to each of the LED's leads, and solder those wires back into the circuit. Simply put your just making a little extension cord for the LED.
2. Unsolder the capacitor attach short wires to each of its leads and put it aside for later.
3. Using a small piece of wire, bridge the switch that is used to charge the capacitor, so it will always be on.
4. I have finally replaced step 4 with a schematic
5. Solder in 2 10in. wires connecting them to the 2 wires you just soldered into the board. These wires will go to the fingers of the glove.

"wire-switch-wire-capacitor-wire-switch-wire" so is it wire to charging switch wire capacitor wire and the charging switch again?

thank you for the shimatics they are so helpful i found this last year but couldnt figure it out from the pics now i can finaly make it by the way i love taking apart cameras and shocking ppl

So this is fine to just randomly go up and shock people??? cuz i found this for that porpose and after skimming through this i got the feeling that it would incapacitate someone :S. Im just looking for some reashorance before i build and randomly shock my friends.

Clarification on the "switch" that needs to be bridged. It generally in common disposables is a press switch on the underside of the circuit. Rather the glue\soldering this shut(which is impractical anyway) you should take off the top of the switch and use a small piece of wire to bridge it.

I don't get these schematics.

So you have the camera circuit in the center

The led hangs off to the right.

Under it is what? A wire leading to the battery holder, and the push button switch???

Then two wires run to what? The push button or the toggle switch? And the other line running to the other toggle switch? In between the push button or toggle switch, and toggle switch is the capacitor? And from what do you run the wires off of that will go to the fingertips?

Please help D: I have asked advice from two different people who work with these kind of things, and they don't understand it.

hi,

can I just leave the led as it is?. and is it possibl to wire the tazer to coin on the glove? thanks!!!!!!!!!!

hello, we're a group of three girls trying to do this for our physics project... so far, we've managed to get up to the point of connecting the capacitor back to the circuit... any help please? >"<
ps. this is due tmr.. so please get to us as soon as possible!! >"< thanks!!

also, it shows in the diagran that you will have two wires coming out of the "finger" wires. what are these

Hi, sorry but i don't understand how the constant connection would work. i am using a "expensive" Kodak disposable, but it doesnt have the little red thing on the back. would it be possible to just solder the edges of the press button to the base of it?

where is the switch to charge the capacitor

I am having a bit of a problem,in the parts list you say you will need 2 Toggle Switches with On/Off Label Plate an 1 Pushbutton switch but in the diagram you show 2 Pushbutton switchs and 1 Toggle Switche. What do I actually need??
Sep 10, 2009. 8:45 PMacer5050 says:
2 flip switch and one Normally Open push button momentary switch... Be sure the button you get says normally open... otherwise it'll be on unless you hold it down, you want the opposite... be sure to buy a normally open button. I made this mistake and didn't realize it but because of it the damn thing charged and got me lol

wait....so what is done with the flash bulb? And where exactly are the batter and "2 wires you just soldered into the board" located.
Jul 29, 2008. 8:34 PMlilthug352 says:
hey what does led mean?
Jul 29, 2008. 9:30 PMLego man says:
It means Light Emitting Diode which is a small compact light/diode.
May 19, 2007. 2:02 PMranaakamarth says:
i really dont get this... cant i jsut attach the capacitor to a battery back and put in a switch and add an LED? stead of doing all those confusing modes?
Sep 15, 2007. 8:27 AMKooshi_Govno says:
no you need the camera circurtry with the tranformer to get the painful voltage
Sep 16, 2007. 2:01 PMranaakamarth says:
couldn't i just use the transformer i took out of a stereo? its huge =) lol

well maybe it would kill some1...
Sep 16, 2007. 2:02 PMranaakamarth says:
well about the size of a mouse

Hey tetranitrate i think i understand now but not sure and i will try to explain the best way i can, ok on the diagram capacitor part is it seperate or connected?

nvm i figured it out

hay I have this thing idont know what it is i think it is a capacetor. it is yellow and has 2 wires comeing out of the bottom of it. On the side of it it says: .47K 275V~X2 GMF MPX/JEFU
Jan 26, 2007. 2:16 PMZiegbod says:
Umm, did i do wire-switch-wire-capicitor-wire-switch-wire right? and also I got 2 push buttons isntead of 2 on/off hope it'll work heres pic
Jan 26, 2007. 8:40 PMZiegbod says:
AHAHAH! i did, and guess what! i like have a metal bottom so i went to shock myself and it like went from one hand to the other roflz. i give u a picture, but no glove its like a regular tazer thingy majigger=

Hey im trying to make this too but i cant find the project box. Where did u get yours??????
Jan 25, 2007. 9:21 PMbarri_kid says:
I Have a flash camera circuit board, on it is way more stuff than what u got (Well, i guess i also have stuff i dont need like the flash and LED. I got a cap (its 3 1/2 cm) it has green plastic over it, im not sure of its capacitance it has the number 97511 on it, a Diode with the number 15 N on it, a transistor with the "D1960" and a "Y" or some letter with a - on top pointing at the right wire. A big green thing like what you have in the pic at the top left corner (not sure what it is), a blue round thing (probably like the yellow one that is just a bit under the resistor on ur pic, and a yellow thing that is upright (kinda looks like the flat yellow item in the pic (i think in the pic it is a cap but not to sure) it has 222k sigma sign and under that it says 400S and then an N in a circle. the resistors that are on it are... it looks like a 221 * 10-1 and 20% tolerance, i think the next is 30 * 101 also 20% tolerance (this one only had 3 bands), Grr, there all bunshed together, and a 47 * 105 with 10%. some of the stuff is really small. it was a fuji disposable.

Also, im not much of an engeneer, this is my first prodject and im not that familiar with some electric stuff, I do however know my resistor codes. but making a circuit diagram was quite tought for this
Jan 6, 2007. 3:59 AMbuildingteen says:
crap my diagram go messed up the capacitor should be at the right side and there should be a verticle piece connecting the o's
Jan 6, 2007. 3:58 AMbuildingteen says:
so there r the 2 points where the capacitor connects with a wire going between the 0's being the points and the squaere being the wire and then wires with switches on it going off of the two points with a capacitor connecting them is that correct?
0---------switch-----------
[] [] capacitor
0---------switch-----------

Oct 5, 2006. 6:39 AMTooDeep says:
dude can you make it easy to understand tnx =)
Aug 5, 2006. 12:11 AMMarcman says:
how many lead wires are there to the capacitor?
