Easy to follow tutorial to make mini indoor firework rockets out of a tea bag. Simple science experiment which is really fun and great to watch.

Step 1: Watch This Short and Simple Video Guide

Watch this video guide and learn how to make really cool mini rockets out of a tea bag.

Step 2: Getting Started

What you need:

 • A Tea Bag
 • Scissors
 • A Lighter

When you have everything, go ahead and follow the instructions in the video.

Step 3: The Procedure - 1

Watch the video guide:

Take your tea bag and using your scissors carefully cut off the top.

Step 4: The Procedure - 2

Open out the teabag into a tube and stand it up on one end

Step 5: The Procedure - 3

Use your lighter and set fire to the top. As it burns the flames create a hot air current and when it gets to the bottom it lifts the ash and makes it take off. Looks great against a black background.

Make sure you do this on a fire proof surface and somewhere where nothing can catch fire.

Nice - Never seen it done with tea bags before.

This is an old party trick at Italian restaurants using an amaretti wrapper and doing the same thing. Nice trick on a first date! - as long as you don't burn the place down ;-)

Is this the actual DaveHax or is this just a fan made account?

This is the real deal ;)

Very cool project!

This is really cool! What do you do with the tea?

Great if you show this to children, then explain the science behind it. Makes for a great mini science lesson at almost not cost.

I've done this in the past! It's so much fun! I found that different brands of tea lift off at different times. Have you noticed this at all?

Very cool! I'll have to do this to show my kids. Thanks!
