Introduction: The Arduino Piano

This "Piano" is able to play an octave of a real piano. The pressing of buttons will represent the pressing of a key on the piano. The sound will be relayed through a Piezo speaker.

Step 1: Materials

1. Arduino Uno

2. USB wire

3. 3 breadboards

4. 8 Pushbuttons

5. 8 100 Ohm resistors

6. "Piezo" Speaker

7. Many Male Wires (About 20)

8. Soldering Iron

Step 2: Build the Setup

Build 8 buttons with each going into 8 different pins in the Arduino, adding a resistor to each, and connecting them to ground (using the Male wires).

Connect the speaker to the designated Arduino pin, and the other side to ground. You will have to solder the wires to the speaker so it doesn't fall off. Make sure the two wires that are soldered to the speaker do not touch each other.

These "#defines" are to tell the speaker which frequency makes which note

Designate the Arduino pins to the buttons. "cState, dState, eState, etc;" are variables that save whether the button is pressed. A 0 means it is not pressed, a 1 means it is pressed.

The state of the button (if it is pressed or not) is saved in "cState, dState, eState, etc;"

A 0 means it is not pressed, a 1 means it is pressed.

If a button is pressed, it tells the servo to play the certiain frequency (note). The function

{noTone(piezoPin);} tells them that if the button is not pressed to play nothing. Therefore whenever the button is pressed, it will play its designated note.
