The original “Where is the love” was released in 2003 as the lead single from The Black Eyed Peas’ third album, Elephunk. It became one of their biggest hits, received two Grammy nominations and was the best-selling single in the UK of that year.

The new version “#Wheresthelove” was released in August 2016 and features vocals from many different artists - of course there’s Fergie and will.i.am, but also guest stars like Diddy, Game, Taboo, Ty Dolla $ign, Justin Timberlake, DJ Khaled, A$AP Rocky and Jaden Smith!

It sounds quite different from the original - but the message remains the same!

There is a website dedicated to the song that includes information on political issues in the Unites States, such as military spending and money spent on education vs. prisons. It truly makes one wonder - where is the love?? Take a look: https://www.wheresthelove.com/

If you want to do some good, you can simply buy the song on iTunes - the earnings will go to support programs focused on underserved youth!

Although there are some new lyrics compared to the original version, there are still most of the famous lines from 2003, such as the classic:

“People killin' people dyin' Children hurtin', I hear them cryin' Can you practice what you preachin'? Would you turn the other cheek again? Mama, mama, mama, tell us what the hell is goin' on Can we all just get along? Father, Father, Father, help us Send some guidance from above Cause people got me, got me questioning Where's the love”
