Do you enjoy Christmas as much as I do? If so, then you certainly like decorating your home with versatile Christmas accessories and cute decorations available on sale nowadays. However, you should agree with me that nothing can be compared with handmade Christmas decoration. That is exactly why I have decided to offer you the Instructable, which will help you make your own Christmas Angel! So, let’s get started!

Step 1: Supplies

To create your special Christmas Angel, you will need the following materials:

  • A piece of a plastic net or a plastic bottle to make the frame
  • Sand, small stones or salt
  • A piece of the white lace curtain
  • White thread or fine wire
  • Hot glue gun (optional)
  • An awl
  • Scissors
  • Two buttons for the eyes (or special toy eyes sold in the garment accessories shops)
  • A piece of capron
  • Polyester padding or wadding
  • Crochet thread

Step 2: Make the Frame

To make the frame for the Christmas Angel, you have to take a piece of a plastic net, which should be both flexible and firm. If you don’t have the one, just take an ordinary plastic bottle. The size of your decoration will depend upon the size of the bottle or the net.

If you have found the plastic net, bend it in the shape of the cone. Make sure the base of the cone is large enough to let you place the angel on the flat surface. In case you have used the plastic bottle, it is recommended to place sand, small stones or salt inside it. This will make the frame of your decoration stable and durable.

Step 3: Create the Attire for Your Christmas Angel

To create the attire for your Christmas Angel, take a piece of the lace curtain or a transparent white cloth. This depends upon your preferences and the materials you have at hand. Fold the frame you have prepared into the cloth or the curtain and affix it using white thread or fine wire. Then cut the circle out of the net or the plastic bottle. The size of the circle should be the same as that of the cone base. It is required to affix the attire using glue, wire or thread. Having attached the circle, you will see that it looks just like a collar!

By the way, it is recommended to use the hot glue gun to affix the parts of the decoration. This method is more convenient, hassle-free and quick. You can also use it for other household needs.

Step 4: Make the Wings and the Sleeves

To make the wings and the sleeves for the angel, you should cut them out of the plastic net or the bottle and attach them to the cloth just like you did in the previous step.

Step 5: Form the Angel

Take all the elements of the Christmas Angel and attach them using the hot glue gun or the wire. If you have used the plastic bottle to create the frame, make holes in it using the awl.

Step 6: Make the Head

To make the head of the angel, you will need a piece of capron and polyester padding (or wadding). Form a soft ball and attach the eyes made of buttons to it. It is also possible to buy special toy eyes that are available is special garment accessories shops.

Step 7: Attach the Hair

The hair of the Christmas Angel can be made of the crochet thread of white or light beige colors. First, make the bundle of threads of the same size and tie it up in the middle part with the thread. After that, you can attach the hair to the head. If you wish, you can also make the fringe of any length you consider necessary. This will give your angel a more adorable and cute look!

Step 8: Enjoy the Decoration!

That’s it! Your Christmas Angel is ready! This handmade decoration will soak the warmth of your hands and heart, creating that special light and comfortable Christmas atmosphere, which is always associated with the holiday. You can also give it to your loved ones to share your positive energetics and holiday spirit with these people! Merry Christmas!
