This piece was inspired by the mechanistic hidden world that "The Chief" sees in the book "One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest" and has some influence from the creatures in "Pan's Labrynth". The Executioner is the first in a series of surreal characters I'm planning and may try to incorporate into one large diorama in the future. A sort of mechanized surreal underworld. The Executioner smashes the souls of the damned. Exactly who or what will damn them in this crazy little world I haven' figured out yet, but I'm sure it will come to me eventually. That being said let us begin...

Step 1: Tools & Materials

Here's what I used to build The Executioner:

 • Torch
 • Bench vise
 • Work piece protectors (optional)
 • Sandpaper
 • Dremel with cut-off wheels and grinding stone
 • Dust collection system (optional)
 • Drill with drill and driver bits
 • Drill bit sizer
 • Wire brush
 • Hacksaw
 • Awl
 • 2 small spring clamps
 • Sandpaper
 • 1 headless action figure with hammer (left over from my Halloween Egg)
 • 1 Plastic gear
 • 2 plastic eyes
 • 1 copper thumb screw
 • 1 small philips head screw
 • Super glue (liquid type)
 • E-6000
 • Epoxy putty
 • Spray paint (primer, silver, gold, clear)
 • Vinegar

torch as in.... lighter?
As in small butane hobby torch. Basically a jet lighter on steroids.

Look for action figures at the local dollar store or in the clearence section of the big box stores. This guy was a construction worker figure and came with the hammer.

Meijer I think, or Dollar Tree...

Who or what is that? It looks pissed of.
Roberto, from Futurama.
Ahhhh...a show I do not watch, but now I may have to.
Beastly
This is 'ible is teh definiton of it.

Great 'ible, 5/5* and subscribed!
Keep up the good work! ;D
I'm sure it's just the head, but this reminds me of Dean.
Nice one, I like it a lot. Also, I see you're a big fan of E-6000 too--I actually found out a few months back that it's made just down the street from where I work!
He does look like Dean. I'd heard of The Tick but never heard about Dean. I found E-6000 after it was mentioned in an Ible actually and it has become my adheasive of choice. It's rubber cement on roids!!! That is so cool you live near the facotry. Maybe they could sell you some in bulk. :)
The head reminds me of E.T.
