Introduction: The Idea Behind Intro Credits

So you want to make intro credits for your movie and give your actors the attention they deserve.  In the intro credits you usually have your main actors name,  the director and the producer.  Make sure to remember the larger the letters the more important the person is.  So whatever names you want to stick the most make them the fanciest,  most defined and largest.

Step 1: Step 1: Footage

You will need some short footage roughly 3-7 seconds of the person who is having their name fly in or something.  This will allow people to put a face with a name.

Step 2: Step 2: Open Editing Program

I will be using adobe after effects for the editing of this footage.  This will allow me to have plenty of variety with making my actors name stand out.

Step 3: Step 3: Import Your Footage

Import the footage that you will be editing for your credits.  I will only be doing one clip just to show you how it is done.  Drag it down to the sequence editing section.

Step 4: Step 4: Choose an Effect

Now you will have to choose your effect and how you want to present it.  The easiest way is to download a pre-made intro credit.  The other easy way is to watch a tutorial for your effect.

Step 5: Step 5: Add the Effect to You Clip

You will now add the effect with some text to your short footage of your actor.  This will allow them to get the credit they deserve.

Step 6: Examples From Movies

The avengers is a great example of intro credits because you get to know a little about the characters as well as make their names known.  It also associates a face with the actors name.

This fan made intro credits shows that you do not need a huge budget to make good credits and this is probably important to most of you.  Their really simple however they get the names across with a retro like feel to it and that is good for a cartoon movie especially.

Step 7: My Example

Step 8: Congratulations

You now know the concept of how to make intro credits.
