Picture of The Microwave Bday Cake
I live in China (even though Im Italian) and here most apartments dont have an oven but just a microwave, which reduce a lot the selection of food I can cook. Anyways, it was my bf's bday and I decided make him a cake just using our microwave.

  • 125 g sugar (2/3 cup)
  • 125 g flour (1 cup)
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g butter (2/4 cup)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tbsp milk (1/4 cup)
  • 30 g cocoa powder (1/4 cup)
  • 120 ml milk, 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 200 g whipping cream
  • Chocolate Cream Pastry
  • MMF (to decorate)

Step 1: Step 1: mix ingredients together

Melt the butter in your microwave at max heat for 1/2 min. Mix it with the sugar.

Add the eggs and beat together

Slowly add the flour and baking powder and then the cocoa powder

Pour in some milk.

I love the detailed work on the top! I love this instructable, but it was slightly confusing when it came to explanations. Great job!

What does MMF stand for? If I go to the local supermarket and ask a TTS (typical teenage stockboy) for MMF will he know what it is?

MMF stands for Marshmallow fondant. I posted an instructable in the cake decoration section that shows how to make MMF.
