There's the Poong Stick.

There are helicopters.

Somehow, the PoongCopter was inevitable...

Step 1: Requirements

The requirements are minimal - two popsicle or craft sticks, and something to work them.  My Leatherman has a nice file, or you could use a rotary tool with a cutting or sanding disc.

Kiteman (author) in reply to ilya128Nov 25, 2012. 11:45 AM
Hello, Ilya. Are you the Cub I spoke to at the big Sleepover?
jphillips15 says: Sep 22, 2011. 8:15 PM
I can't get it to work :( It kept coming apart, then I taped it together, but it doesn't fly. Can you show video of what flight should look like?
Kiteman (author) in reply to jphillips15Sep 23, 2011. 1:48 AM
I tried videoing it, but it's worse than useless.

Spin it like a top, and it just sort of spins through the air - not high.
ilpug says: Sep 21, 2011. 7:45 PM
Yes, but does it Poong?
Kiteman (author) in reply to ilpugSep 22, 2011. 12:23 AM
I'm afraid not - it won't spin fast enough.
ilpug in reply to KitemanSep 22, 2011. 10:05 AM
I don't want to sound rude, but if it doesn't poong, why call it a poongcopter?
Kiteman (author) in reply to ilpugSep 22, 2011. 12:40 PM
Because it's made from a Poong stick.
ilpug in reply to KitemanSep 22, 2011. 8:02 PM
I know, i'm just being argumentative for no real reason, excuse my weirdness. I love poong sticks, so i will go hack up an old one and make this. Maybe a video?

I made the original Poong Stick and my dad thought it was absolutely confuzzling. Ha
Kiteman (author) in reply to thomasthetankengineSep 21, 2011. 2:27 PM
Oh, I see what you did there!
thomasthetankengine in reply to KitemanSep 21, 2011. 2:50 PM

thomasthetankengine in reply to KitemanSep 21, 2011. 2:49 PM
I like how you have nearly 50 times the instructables as me. Snap.
Kiteman (author) in reply to thomasthetankengineSep 21, 2011. 2:57 PM
Thanks for the vote - I need to publish 4 more projects to hit a personal target.
thomasthetankengine in reply to KitemanSep 21, 2011. 3:41 PM
Why 134...? Lucky number or competing with someone else? Ha
Kiteman (author) in reply to thomasthetankengineSep 22, 2011. 12:22 AM

Kiteman (author) in reply to thomasthetankengineSep 23, 2011. 7:10 AM

thomasthetankengine in reply to KitemanSep 23, 2011. 7:13 AM
I haven't seen any of their instructables...=(. I will look around. PM me a link to your favorite (that's right, no "u") 'ible by them.
Kiteman (author) in reply to thomasthetankengineSep 23, 2011. 7:15 AM
Have a look for her "mouse mouse".

(You ought to be aware of Canida - she's Eric's other half.)
thomasthetankengine in reply to KitemanSep 23, 2011. 7:20 AM
Yes, I think i have seen the mouse mouse before...I'll look further into it...what do you mean by Eric's other half? Sorry I know people normally by their usernames...like I have no idea what yours is. Mines obviously Thomas but..
Kiteman (author) in reply to thomasthetankengineSep 23, 2011. 7:42 AM
Eric = Ewilelm = site founder & CEO

Canida = Mrs Ewilhelm.

Check the "about" page for a round-up of the staff.  If you hover over the images, you can see their user-name.

No glue?
Kiteman (author) in reply to rimar2000Sep 21, 2011. 12:30 AM
No - all friction-fit.

If you want to avoid needing glue, start with a narrow slot and gradually widen it until everything fits.
