Introduction: The Reusable Duct Tape Book Sock

In this instructable, I will be explaining how to make a Reusable Book Sock.  I've been doing this for years now and it works great.

Step 1: Materials

For this instructable, you will need the following:
-Duct Tape
-Brown Paper
-A Book to cover

Step 2: Covering, Part 1

First, you want to cover the book in brown paper.  I do not have steps to do this because my brother did it for me, as I have no idea how to do it.  Your on your own for this part.  My apologies.

Step 3: Covering, Part 2

Now, begin covering the brown paper with the duct tape.  Start inside the cover and be careful not to put tape directly on the book, as teachers dislike books with duct tape covering them.  I haven't the slightest idea why though.

Step 4: The Finished Product

In the end, you will have a book cover that will be able to slide right off at the end of the school year and will hold up to just about anything during it.  I used the same one for three years until I got my Italian 4 text book. which was about 100 pages thicker than my 3 text books from Italian 1, 2, and 3.  I never needed to add tape to it or improve it in any way shape or form.  It is a simple solution, not to mention, it doesn't pull on the bindings of books, as traditional elastic book socks do.  I made the first one back in Italian 1 because my teacher forbid the elastic book socks and I knew that just brown paper would not last long at all.  And thus, the duct tape book sock was born.
