The Slingshot Magnum Bolt

The Slingshot Magnum Bolt
Having used Killerk's bolt design for some time, I have become frustrated by it's inherent limitations.

1. the headpiece easily breaks and is easily lost. Not good when you are shooting outside.

2. the headpiece can only hold so much force without misfiring.

Both of these problems are solved in this project, I hope that you like the finnished product.

The fletching didn't work, but then again, I was using wider tape.  Any suggestions?

When something doesn't work; use duct tape; when it still doesn't work; use super glue; and if it still doesn't work; use a hammer. XD

and when that doesn't work, use a chainsaw; when that doesn't work, use explosives. that's about the order i go about fixing things with.

Sure, but don't complain if you don't like it, because you didn't specify what you wanted. I'll try to make something cool.

great idea, but it just took the end off of my rod upon impact (I was firing at a block of wood to see how far it would go in... The tip part just got stuck in the wood and the rest ricocheted and put a hole in the wall...)

A long time ago I worked in a plastic molding plant. I think your melted hole solution is probably stronger than a drilled hole. Nice ible.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I used a 1-inch wire nail instead of a paperclip for added stability and now it works perfect. How is this now above 4 stars? Fav and 5 stars.
Dec 23, 2008. 7:14 PMMr. Stealth says:
Haha that's hilarious. I used a hunting knife to sharpen my bullet, but then I'd take the L wire and bend it like a fish hook. Ouch. NOT THAT I AM SUGGESTING ANYONE TRY THIS. :D
Dec 26, 2008. 5:45 AMMr. Stealth says:
Did you try my fins idea yet?
Dec 26, 2008. 9:03 AMMr. Stealth says:
Cool. Post pictures when you have another prototype.
Dec 22, 2008. 1:00 PMMr. Stealth says:
Sry I meant not above 4 stars. I figured out how to make the removeable fins that killerk used. You take some tape and wrap it around the rod so the sticky side is up. Then you attach the fins on the sticky part and then the whole fin will slide off. If I'm the first to figure it out give credit to me.
Dec 23, 2008. 7:12 PMMr. Stealth says:
Not if your wrap the tape around tight. I shot it sucessfully once on my old gun because I removed a bunch of things on the barrel. I lost it right away. I haven't had enought trials for it, but it seems plausible. My new gun I'm building is a model of a VSS.

Sep 10, 2008. 12:24 AMgrevious says:
hmm.. but everytime i do 4 fins it turns out all wonky and not straight, il ltry with two and see my results
Sep 9, 2008. 1:45 AMMI6 says:
This looks really useful - i can see a lot of people wanting this.
Sep 8, 2008. 8:37 AMThe Jamalam says:
if you mean the firing pin, he uses a black carbon rod which doesn't bend. that is why this breaks...
