It's the so called 'SOCK STOVE'!
More words aren't necessary. This is what it is: maybe the best outdoor stove you've ever had!
All you need:
- a flexible aluminium ventilation tube (or flexible alu pipe)
- some metal wire
and, of course
- a fresh wooden stick
- your survival cook pot

Slip one end over your pot and bend the other end in a 'sock' or 'L'-shape.
Solidify the sock with some metal wire - always to have in your kit - and fix it to a fresh wooden stick (I used bamboo in this demo version).
Make a lot of small holes in the sock.
Fix the stove to the ground.
Ready to burn!

But as you stated this is a survival set up.
Don't worry about the stove. It wasn't damaged at all after a few uses, so in a survival situation this would be enough.
You can use a flexible - and a bit heavier - alu pipe also.
Asking a Fleming if he's maybe Walloon is like asking a Scot if he's English.
Or being a fan of the Red Sox in a crowd of Yankees. ;-)
