Introduction: The Wedge-tron

This is a very simple cool little car made primarily of popsicle sticks.

Step 1: Materials and Tools

Sorry I dont have any Pictures of this.

Materials:
many popsicle sticks
2 small DC motors, not geared ,must be high rpm
1 AA or AAA battery holder
1 AA or AAA battery
2 about 5 inch pieces of wire ( longer is better speaking from experience)
1 hot wheels car
something to hold the roof up. I used a small piece of PVC pipe. You could use whatever you have handy
1 or 2 sticks of hot glue depending on how good you are with a hot glue gun
*optional* a switch and an extra piece of wire

Tools:
hot glue gun
sheet metal snips
wire striper
scissors
clamp

Step 2: The Base

First Lay 5 popsicle sticks side to side *see pic*
Cut 3 popsicle sticks so that they are as long as the 5 are wide
Glue them on
This will be the main body

Now take 2 more sticks and glue the 2 ends together so you have a cone type thing
attach the 2 other ends to the outer 2 sticks on the square thing we just made.
This seems a little confusing but the pics make it clearer

to fill in the area in put a stick cut to length that is parallel to the bottom stick on you triangle part.
continue until the triangle is solid.
Once again the pics make this much more clear.

That is it for the base

Step 3: Motors and Motor Mounting

You take a piece of paper and measure part way from the end of the motor to the end of the motor and make a line there
from that line you measure the width of the square part of the body and make a line
from that line you do the same thing with a second motor.

Now you transpose those lines to a piece of sheet metal and cut it out as the pics show.
Next you bend about 30-60 degrees on the 2 inside lines

now on the 2 small flaps glue 2 motors. ( Hot Glue)
take now unified piece and glue it about in the middle ( if not closer to the back ).
That is the motor mounting
Next is the wiring

Step 4: Wirering

Connect the front terminal of the left motor to the front terminal of the right motor and vise versa.
Take you battery holder and glues it about the front of the square platform.

*Optional* on you battery holder there should be 2 wires a red one and a black one.
on the red one attach one lead from a switch and on the other another wire

Now if you dont want to do that then you can just hook and unhook one of the wires from the terminal of one of you motors

You have 2 leads. To make sure your buggy goes forward you have to hook one of the lines to one terminal on its side and the other to the opposite terminal on the other side. If that makes it try to go forward you just twist one of the wires and make the other into a hook so you can turn it on and off.

If it went back wards you simply have to switch the terminals that both of them are on.
Ex: you the black one on the front terminal and the red one on the back terminal and it went backwards so now you put the black one on the back terminal and the red one on the front terminal.

Yay! You finished the wiring. Now this is a nearly functioning buggy. However it looks pretty plain so why don't we add a cover and a front wheel.

Step 5: The Front Wheel and the Cover

Now we will make the front wheel. it will consist of a hot wheels* car glued to the front of the buggy
Glue small car to front of bigger car.
*IMPORTANT* make sure you put the hot wheels car on straight or else it wont go straight

This should work just fine if it doesn't make sure the axles of the motor are touching the ground. If it still doesn't work dont hesitate to leave a comment/question.

If it is going to slow for you simply adjust your mounting so the motors and closer to parrallel with the ground.

If you are satisfied with that (which i am not) then you can stop now. Else you can make a cover for it so you can put you name, a drawing or what ever you like on your buggy.

What you do is glue your PVC pipe or what ever you have right behind you motor so you can still change the batteries.

From here you simply take 5 popsicle sticks and make a flat surface from the back of the buggy past the top of the PVC pipe.

Just put your mark on your buggy and you are done!
