Step 3 The setup.

This is dead simple.

basically you have gas and air coming in one end, being burnt in the middle and hot gases coming out the other end...

So the nozzle goes on the bottom of the metal pen barrel, air holes outside the barrel, the pen lid is chopped up a tad and used to make a small sealing ring around the nozzle top, without that you'll only get a weak yellow flame because pressure can't build and also there's too much air to gas.

your desine is intresting and prity cool i am going to make a jet engine useing and plasma torch you see plasma is som would say is the 4th state of matter and i will spin the plasma with magnetick felds and at the rite speed i will reles it and if all gos well it willl give a woping 66% afishinsee

if you jb weld a nut the size of the threads on the to the back it would make fo and easy removal, but it might eventualy burn up and fall off, if you know how and have the tools you cloud weld it on

Perfect looking one, looks just like the original ones I used, see the hole in the cross section, that's the one that needs to be outside the barrel with only the hole where the mixed gas and air comes out inside. Any objects you can find that stand the heat and make a good shape are game for experimentation, some people had luck with spent Co2 capsules by drilling holes in them - click view all comments and look at them for a few ideas.

 jet lighters are the best i will upload a vid for you of mine, i use it for lighting my sparkler rockets because it works in all weather and it is so hot it lights the sparkler fuse instantly. mine can melt coper wire so that it beads into a ball of coper it looks awsom when it cools.

Well the holes are two holes that go straight through the jet lighter nozzle, they're needed to actually mix the butane and air, it's not easy down in such low volumes so that's why the nozzle's there. For a better sealing build you might find a barrel with that tapers down a bit you can drop the nozzle through it and screw the nozzle down in to it. it Just means that the plastic from the pen lid won't slowly melt away, which it eventually does. If you need any more help just ask...

So then, just one hole straight through the (what looks like) Black rubber part? And then when fitting that into the pen shaft how far do these holes go it? To the point where I can no longer see them? And taken as yours actually works xD, any recommended hole sizes? I'm guessing keep it small. But you never know. Over all it's a great plan, I'm just a huge perfectionist when it comes to all things "do it yourself" lol. But yeah, as soon as I figure out the bugs I made last time, and get her set up I'll be sure to take a video =D Oh and by the way, I can see how it's easy to get burned, good thing I was wearing gloves..though it didn't help much when they are covered in nitro fuel
