Introduction: Time Lapse Pan Head With Kitchen Timer
Reuse and recycle your kitchen timer to make a pan head for a DSLR camera.
Step 1: Parts You Will Need
1. Kitchen timer
2. 1/4" threaded rod
3. 1/4" Nuts and washers
4. 8mm Wooden dowel
5. Skateboard bearings
6. Plywood or any flat material you want to use
Step 2: Cutting the Wood
I used a laser cutter and milling machine to cut out the gears and main body but you can cut them with a saw if you don't have access to machines that will do the job for you. I used inkscape which is free software that allows you to create gears easily. i have used a 1:3 gear ratio so that i will spin 120 degrees in i hour which is what i wanted it to do but if you change it to less for example 1:2 be aware that the timer may not move it. the small gear is 85mm in diameter the big gear is 245mm in diameter and the base plate is 160mm in diameter.
Go out and make a Timelapse.
