 You Will Need:

A Mac Computer with built in iSight
Photo Booth - Firmware for any of the above computers
Automator - Firmware for most Macs

Yes it does take up a lot of space, if I can think of something I'll let you know. Anyway that does show the effect quite well, can you add the link into your Voila step?

I don't know much about Automator, but I'd guess you can set a script to run in a loop, or to run periodically.  It sounds like you are copying the "take photo then wait 5 minutes" steps a number of times, which I'd imagine limits the number of photos you can take.

Any Windows power users know if there's a windows equivalent of Photobooth you can use this way with a standard webcam and some script?

No windows based ones off the top of my head but plenty of free capture software that could be rigged in the same way, I know newer Acers have a built in program for their built in webcams that's the same basic idea, I imagine most webcams have some software for grabbing a photo.

One system to do it by that's in windows is MSN messenger, using the personal image function to take a new photo every so many seconds/minutes, though you'd change your profile picture too, which could be good...
