Tiny Origami Dragon Puppet / Pequeño Dragón Marioneta De Origami

hello everybody!
in this instructable I explain how to make a puppet, like the ones I was a child.
It's very funny to try make this one.

en este instructibo explicare como hacer una marioneta, como las que hacia de pequeño.
espero se diviertan jugando con ella.

Step 1: Preparing the Materials / Preparando Los Materiales

for this project you will need

- 2 sheets of paper, size letter or A4 is fine, you can chose the color (I tried with 3 but was too much long)
- 2 wood sticks
- some glue / masking tape
- scissors
- optional: paint, markers, or anything you think can help to improve the effect

para este proyecto vamos a usar

- 2 hojas de papel, tamaño carta o A4 esta bien, puedes elegir el color que quieras (yo intente usar 3, pero quedaba muy largo)
- 2 palillos de madera
- algo de pegamento o cinta de enmascarar
- tijeras
- opcional: pintura, marcadores o lo que creas que pueda mejorar el resultado final

Step 2: Making the Body (part 1) /armando El Cuerpo (part 1)

took one sheet of paper and cut it by the middle making two strips of paper.
then paste the it to make a long strip (I used two sheets of papers at this point, but in the end I cut off one).

now begins the origami part: (plase look the photos to make a good idea)
1: with the long strip, fold it by the middle as long.
2: then pleat it in by the half and the half of the half and the half of the half.... a lot of times (I think like 8 times, it's like a "accordion").
3: back to the long strip folded in the middle (step 1) and pleat parallel to the middle a tick strip log across the paper.
4: unfold all and make a zigzag line between the marks made in the previous instruction.
5: collapse the "bellows" origami body.

I found this (link here) It uses the same origami for the body. I hope it help you to make the body, but is in spanish

toma una hoja de papel y cortala por la mitad a lo largo para hacer dos cinta de papel.
ahora pega los extremos de las cintas para hacer una cinta aún más larga (yo use dos hojas en este punto, pero al final termine cortando una)

ahora empieza la parte del origami: (por cualquier duda, mira las fotos para tener una mejor idea)
1: con la cinta larga, hay que doblarla a lo largo por la mitad
2: ahora hay que doblarlo por la mitad y por la mitad de la mitad y la mitad de la mitad... un monton de veces (creo que con 8 veces esta bien, quedara como un acordeon)
3: volviendo a la cinta larga doblada por la mitad (paso 1) hay que plegar una delgada cinta a lo largo (paralela al pliegue).
4: desdoblar todo y plegar un zig-zag a travez de las marcas del pliege anterior (las paralelas a la linea central)
5: colapsar el pliegue de fuelle

encontre esto (link aqui) usa el mismo origami para el cuerpo, por si nesesitas más instrucciones, a mi me gustarón

Step 3: Making More Origami (part 2) / Haciendo Más Origami (parte 2)

I took the another sheet of paper and improve a origami head and a simple tail, I treat to make a photostream of the foldings, I hope can make a definitive model of a dragon head for my intructables, if help you in this other (link here) I made a similar think.

con la otra hoja, improvise una cabeza y una cola, trate de hacer un fotodiagrama de los pasos, espero algun dia poder hacer un modelo defiitibo para mis intructables,. si les sirve, aqui dejo otro que hice antes (link aqui)

Step 4: Putting All Together / Poniendo Todo Junto

This step is simple, only glue the tail, the body and the head together, then attach the wood sticks to under the neck and the tail, look the photos for a more precise idea.

can you paint it now (I didn't ) or decorate as you wish.

Now you has finished the puppet! play with it and have Fun!

este paso es sencillo, solo basta pegar la cola el cuerpo y la cabeza juntos, luego añadir los palillos en la pare de abajo del cuello y cola, en las fotos pueden ver como tiene que quedar.

pueden pintarlo o decorarlo como quieran (yo no lo hice)

Step 5: Experiment More Ideas! / ¡a Experimentar Más Ideas!

I play with the body of this kite dragon (Link here) and painted it. (is the same mechanic).
another idea is scaling the dragon for a canaval dragon or a bigger puppet.
even you can hang it and use sew for make a marionete.
(yes I played a lot with this)

I played it as aligator or another animals with anoter head, its fine

others ideas are like change the body for simplify it like this origami (link here, credits for the blog of Bea)

Jugando con el cuerpo de este dragon de cometa (link aqui) y pintadolo (es la misma mecanica)
otra idea es escalarlo para el carnaval o una marioneta más grande.
incluso puedes colgalo con hilos y hacerlo marioneta, todo es como lo quieras hacer.
(si, he jugado mucho con estas cosas)

yo he jugado a hacer lagartos y otros animales con otras cabezas, esta bien jugar asi

otras cosas que podrias hacer es usar un cuerpo mas sencillo como este origami (link aqui, creditos para mi amiga Bea)
