Step 1: Select & cut your wood
I had bought some pine boards for this project last year. I am finally ready to cut them to size. They are 1" x 12". The mill nearby cuts real sizes. If you buy your wood at Loees or Homeey Depot you will get 3/4" x 11 3/4 " size respectively. I don't fully understand why they still call this a 1" x 12" board at these stores.
Another rip-off like gasoline prices, $ 3.49 .09/10 per gallon. So where is my 1/10 of a cent ? I always ask the clerk inside for it. They think its funny. I wish they would do away with pennies. Such a bother!
The White Birch sticks are about 2 1/2 " Diameter (you can go bigger if you want , the Cedar logs are 6"-8" Diameter (bigger is better for stability) , Pine Boards are 1 " thick x 12 " wide. The bench is sized for two people, so you decide on its length, the chair is sized for one person. I just sat on the board and measured from there. Easy measuring. The end table is just made from left over board and cedar log ends. The top is about 18 " long x 10 " wide. The Coffee table is longer of course.
