Step 1: Let's Start With Ingredients.
10-16 oz kale
32 oz chicken broth
9 oz three cheese tortellini
1 chicken bouillon cube
2 cups hot water
Large cooking pot
Optional: shredded Parmesan or Romano cheese. Also if you don't like hot, you can use Sausage with sage, or any other mild, med. sausage for flavor. Whatever you prefer.
Step 2: Prep
You may want to go through your kale to find any bad places to be removed and if you want remove any of the kale stock that is to tough. You can also prepare your bouillon in the two cups of hot water at this time.
Step 3: Cooking
Now start by cooking your sausage, I used med to med. high heat on a gas stove. When the sausage is browned, you can drain off some or all of the grease. Mine didn't have a lot of grease, so I just left it in for flavor.
Now start putting in the kale, I added it little by little. Then as it cooked down added more. You may want to turn the heat down or add a little broth, depending on how much liquid you have in the bottom of you pot. So things don't scorch.
When you have added all of the kale and it's cooked down you can add the broth and bouillon water. Bring it all to a boil and let it cook for about 10 min.
Now toss in the tortellini, stir it in well, and let it cook for 7-9 min. or until tender.
I let mine simmer for 15-20 min. after its all cooked, to let the flavor blend in a little more.
Step 4: Enjoy!
Now dish it up, top with a little cheese and enjoy!
